In this video, I will be giving you a guided tour of the MAERSK TRIPLE-E series considered one of the biggest ships in the world. All the merchant navy aspirants going to join the life at sea will benefit a lot from this video, since the general layout of Cargo ships is more or less the same.
The best part of sailing on these ships is the massive ships are the entertainment systems onboard. On this particular vessel we have PlayStation, Nintendo WII, Dayrooms full of board games & last but not the least a full fledged cinema hall.
The GYM is a place which is close to my heart & the ship has a well equipped gym with sophisticated modern day machineries. For sports we have a Table Tennis room, a small Basketball court and a punching bag.
Enjoy the video & don't forget to give it a big thumbs up if you found the video informative .

I served on a WW2 LST (Landing Ship, Tank) in the western Pacific back in the 1960's, it was 99 X 15 meters (326 ft X 50 ft.), with a crew of 100. Our berthing compartment was 2.73 meters by 6.07 meters (9 X 20 ft.) and had 5 stacks of 3 bunks for 15 men, right underneath the main deck. Living and working conditions were HELLISH in the tropics, food was poor, water tasted like it came from a public swimming pool, but the thing that made it bearable was the constant adventure of moving from obscure port to obscure port (and some really cool ones) and getting onshore liberty almost everywhere we went as we were a working ship and always busy. Comparing my LST to your ship would be like comparing a row boat to a yacht. Very impressive vessel and very interesting tour and channel...cheers and a hearty thanks to your company for permitting you to make these videos.

On the downside, it looks like modern mariners go onshore less often that they used to do. Modern ports are often far from anything, and all these security areas ... Am I right ?

What kind of communication tech were you? I worked for a couple of big phone companies as a tech for many years. I did installation and repair of inside and outside plant, and also as a cable splicer. I wonder if any of my skills would help in here. I have only minor experience as central office needs, most of my work was outside plant. This looks like a great ship and is well fitted out.

Had always wondered how the crew slept, ate, etc. on these large cargo container ships. I figured you had basic berthing quarters but didn't realize it was more or less a small apartment complex with everything you'd need - though for the lengths of time you're at sea, it only makes sense ;). I sailed shell tankers in the sixties/seventies. The largest being the 200,000 ton M-boats. Interesting seeing how the crew accommodation has improved. The cabins on the M- boats of the late sixties were very good, separate cabin with bathroom, day bed and writing bureau. In its day pretty good…it’s a very long time since I’ve heard the nautical terms ..ie: Monkey island etc,…great, wonderful days of my youth

@@abhirajsingh4734 So first of all , I want to make somethings clear. 1) This is NOT my game that im developing or i own , the game is still in developmeny and this is a simulator integrated onto a platform called Roblox. 2) If you are thinking , this sim is unrealistic or unprofessional just because its in Roblox , thats not true at all . this sim here has really good models of all the ship sizes and types and these are about 70% well made as the devs revampe them every now and then. 3) the features inside the game are pretty less if you compare it with other ship sims but as i said its still in development so i think we should give the devloper a chance , by far the sim features -Panama canal system , where there are working lock systems, also the panamax size vessels can only go through like in real life. -Ship customization options, and it is here where im doing my part , there a lot of customization options in the game where you design the cabins , the decks , the toilets ,gyms, coffee machine too haha. This is what my plan is , to add detail to the ship in game i.e The triple E , hopefully i'll try to recreate it as shown in the video :)

Thank you for the tour of this huge container ship. Wow, there are many nice larger areas for each sailors room, and other very nice living and resting areas. I have read the book about Magellian and later about Captain cook about the tall mast sailing boats (ships) of the time. Wow, they were very lucky to survive those voyages. On Magellian's around the world trip Magellian, and all of the officers died only lower ranking crew survived. Only 1 of the 5 boats came back to Spain. Life at sea has changed much for the better.

The furniture in the lounges / day rooms and even the cabins looks very similar to the furniture we had in my dorms in college many years ago. Not the most comfortable or attractive furniture, but rather inexpensive institutional furniture that is easy to keep clean and tough to break or damage, and which will remain usable for many, many years. In that sense it's great for it's intended purpose, and far better than the disposable furniture that one might buy at IKEA.

Nah it's fine , normal civilians aren't allowed and can't access a cargo vessel unless they are given special permission by the captain and are watched at all times. When there are paying travelers onboard shipping vessels the crew usually locks the access to dangerous areas where the visitors aren't allowed such as the engine room and the bridge.
@MLB9000
@MLB9000 Жыл бұрын
@@josephbennett3482 Is that actually something a regular person can do? I like the idea of booking passage on a container ship, but I'd imagine the months of travel time staring at the ocean might not be such a great experience.
@josephbennett3482
@josephbennett3482 Жыл бұрын
@@MLB9000 yes with special permission from the captain of the vessel and clearances for safety reasons people can book a trip on a cargo vessel as a visitor , it's usually the most cheapest way to get from one place to another but with terrorism being a big concern most shipping companies don't ok it.

How the hell do you keep the inside quarters that clean. Considering the size of the interiors and how spic and span it is, it would take an army to keep it this clean. Whoever is in charge of the cleaning, is doing a great job.

Not much dirt at sea and you don't wear dirty overalls past the change room or the steward will roast you. A crew that doesn't keep their living quarters clean is unlikely to be taking correct care of the rest of the ship.

@josephbennett3482
@josephbennett3482 2 жыл бұрын
It's a bit difficult because you have to have your maritime certification and have the knowledge on being able to repair and maintain a ship if something goes wrong , and you have to pass a lot of security background checks so the shipping company and federal agencies know that you're not a threat to the safety of ocean vessels , lastly ship crews have to pass a health check to make sure they are fit to do the work and trips that last literally weeks at a time.

At the university that my cousin attends, its difficult to get into the Faculty of Logistics and even more difficult to get a seat in the maritime major, the acceptance rate is less than the faculty of medicine at the same univ. The difficulty begins even before you get a chance to study this branch.
