@@kem2271 its all by design, this is what a country looks like as it transitions to a socialist /communist state, have no fear, it gets much worse then what were currently experiencing, there're only in the beginning steps, it gets to it high point once they run out of other people money, once this happens the entire bottom falls out. let me add , it doesn't matter if drump gets back in or not , its not a matter of if the US falls but when. we've come to the point of no return, all because of a single rouge admin.

We have the same issues with the federal system in Canada. There's little preventative maintenance. They wait until things are falling apart and then fall under a major project where the budget comes from headquarters. Of course, it can take years for your serial project to get approved, and that's when things have been left too long to fix locally.

It’s easy. They hire Bop staff that don’t know shat about facilities and maintenance. Most times they hire within and hire people that don’t even know about electrical, hvac and other stuff. They hire who they want and who they like but that hurts the facility because no one knows how to fix anything. Then they have to contract out wasting even more money when they could have done the repairs in house if they just hired people who know what they’re doing

If we made life better for the population and people where aloud to live a descent life making a good wage you wouldn't have to repair prison's. No one would want to go to prison with life being so good on the outside. I mean I know it won't stop all the crime. But I bet it sure would put a good dent in the crime Waves. Let's think about helping people out of poverty instead of building places to store people. Ya I know it's a nice dream!

Retired with over 26 years working in 6 different Federal prisons part of the problem is every year the budget for the prison gets lower so prisons have lower how many staff some are so bad that they are staffed at 80% which than makes other staff work Overtime many times unwanted ot then if said prison was given for example 100 million to run for the year and you now have to pay extra OT
