Without a doubt, the best movie I've ever seen. Every time I watch it, it's even better than the last time because of tiniest of details that were thrown in by Aronofsky. Every viewing I notice more, and it's fucking crazy how talented of a director he is. Kubrick can go blow himself in the corner. Darren is the man.

Best movie hands down. I´ve rated over 200 movies on my list and The Fountain is the only one, I rated a 101%!! Why 101?? Because not even the director came up with the interpretation, I came up with! "The future" isn´t really the future at all! Well, it´s technically the future from all the other "time period"´s perspective..... It´s Tommy´s MIND!! It´s basically him! In a majestic symbolic way. And HE´s writing the end of the book! That´s what all the past "time period" is all about. This movie doesn´t even depict 3 different time periods at all, it´s all about different states of mind and the 5 stages of grief, all in all depicted in an utterly beautiful way!

@@chanceneck8072 I share your interpretation but those themes were certainly intentional by Aronofsky. It’s both the actual story of three time periods and the psychological and spiritual aspect of Tommy dealing with his grief and ultimately his fear of his own death. It’s not just about him accepting his wife’s death it’s about him accepting his own.

@@carsonpeterson758 Maybe you should have paid more attention. Next time when you judge a film that is objectively a masterpiece try to use the words "for me" and "in my opinion" more.
