I work in a cake factory in France and I was curious how is in America (because I love America !) and… it’s pretty similar. For every person who never worked in a factory, believe me, a lot of problem can happen if only a cake isn’t in a good shape on the roll (stuffing cakes).

Kind of insane to see that a human basically never touches them or gets involved at any point in the process (except maybe an occasional sorter).

I work at hostess I assure you we touch them. On average I touch about 300,000 cakes a night to feed the belt for packaging. This is some advanced warehouse. Very few exsist. I have gloves of course but they definitely get touched.

Shame on Hostess!!! Not enough in the bag for me, my four Grandkids , and two neighbors to enjoy!( I won't bother anymore to buy them anymore!)

The reality is most of these types of equipment have inborn obsolescence from the instant of manufacture. Most computerized machinery was never meant to operate in a fast paced, mass production operation. Most of this type of equipment is expensive to own and operate. It deteriorates quickly necessitating replacement. This becomes quite expensive for most companies. Most companies can't really afford to replace equipment often. This is why many companies are failing because of technology ultimately closing their doors permanently. It may work for Hostess, but it doesn't for all companies, unfortunately.
