Youre looking for XMR, ICP is a token that will require you to make an account that reveals your private info making a link between the account and you. If you want to have currency that is untracable look at XMR or monero although it is just as volatile as any other crypto so be careful. This isnt financial advice

@@saintsocramnymaia5511 🙄 how you think they funded 5 years worth of development? There's a lot more risk involved in a brand new technology so their only choice is to sell it privately. Once they nailed their protocol and network down they put it on the market. A certain amount of initial private investors choose to take profits immediately and the price adjusts accordingly. The fact that they had so many private investors in the first place speaks to the amount of money that went into the project.

Why the scaremongering about salted and hashed passwords at the beginning? It is true that recovery of a valid preimage to the hash is a computational problem, but so is recovery of the signing key from the verifying key in a signature scheme, so there is no advantage there. Also, maybe I missed this, but shouldn't there also be a PKI as part of the protocol? Otherwise how can the IC authenticate the signatures as valid? How is the PKI managed? The identity provider seems to act as a classical CA, that gives it a lot of power.

They seem to put a lot of emphasis on the macroeconomics of the token economy, claiming it will bring an alternative financing model to that of "big tech" (don't they partner with a lot of big tech companies?) suggesting that their end user is website/app developers. Yet, it is not clear to me that the same power dynamics of the rest of the industry won't be immediately replicated by their incentive system (you get tokens by offering data centers, not everyone has one of those in their backyard), with the difference of having to maintain an energy intensive blockchain on top. As for the end users of the websites built on top of the IC, it's not clear to me what their advantages would be. It is not clear to me if they even risk having their personal data forever stored in an inmutable blockchain 🤷‍♂️ I'm open to hearing if this is not the case, I looked at some of their material and recent presentations, and I honestly don't know/understand

boo, manufactured fud. webauthn using the same public key cryptography that bitcoin/eth uses is recognized as an improvement to the typical username+password paradigm. You don't have to use faceid to access your private keys. it, and other biometrics, are offered as a user convenience. this is NOT kyc. saying it is is an outright lie, designed to control the thoughts of (you) reading this.
