It is true that Oda is a workaholic and works 21 hours a day, but after reading many of the comments on my last video, of fans worrying about Oda. I wanted to show it’s not all bad. That Oda has created a great life for himself and his family from his hard work and even though he doesn’t get to spend much time with them now, in the future when he does get to enjoy the fruits of his labor; it will be the beautifully relaxing life he deserves! In short yes lol I wanted to show both sides.

One Piece’s IP is worth 20 Billion. Top 20 of any franchise in the world. That’s just Oda’s bring home as of a few years ago. I wish I would’ve explained better in the video. I did another video of how he spends the money & did a little in that one.

It's owned by Shuesha. Oda has full creative control. He received 5% of the cover price for each volume sold and 3% of all merchandise. That's where most of his money came from. There's dozens of other agreements for things like the anime and his commission for being published in shonen jump.

He gets his percentage whether or not a project actually makes money or if he had significant involvement or costs are calculated. If a game is made that cost $10 million to make and only ends up making $1 million he still gets his cut. He assumes none of the risk and receives only rewards. He doesn't need to pay for advertising, production or manufacturing. Pretty much the only thing he has to pay for is his own staff.
