Im thinking out a few years and consider this thought. As the next generation, my generation (age 37) gets into position to be buyers we are more impressed with 997 Turbo than 993 Turbo all day. Ive owned and put considerable miles on both and they arent even close. 997 gives the Porsche experience that we all dreamt about whereas the 993 looks great but the driving experience doesnt deliver for many of us looking for a more modern drive. I believe the 993s will fall as the years go on and will ve replaced by 997 which will be the last of the pure 911s offered in manual. 997 4.0 GT3 will be multi millions in 20 years.

Completely agree with all you said. The 993 is to the generation before you what the 997 is to your generation. Being the last air cooled Porsche and pretty modern and reliable compared to 911’s prior, the 993 will always be an iconic and treasured model. But yes, as time goes on, the 997 will begin to be more and more revered for all the right reasons.

All cars are subject to generation while I dont think you're wrong about 997 values increasing I don't see the 993s going lower. I'm your age as well, my first Porsche purchase was my 996 loved it and bought a 997 S and 991 4s the same year. Sold the 991 8 months later and the 997 S right after covid lifted did great on both of them buy I kept the one I liked the most. All subject to opinion but the 997 felt outdated and like every other car after a few weeks. The 991 was nice but worth the money I had in it not to me, worth what I sold it for absolutely 😅. I like the smaller analog experience vs the newer ones. The 991 was more car than I could really use and have fun with. I also had a jaguar Ftype that was 3 years newer than the 991 half the miles 1/4 the price and personal an incredibly undervalued car that really ruined the 997 and 991 for me. 🤷‍♂️

100!! Manual craze will probably subside as well as this younger generation didn’t really grow up driving it like the 80-90s teenagers

I 100% agree. I’m in my late 50s and specifically bought a 997.1 Turbo a few years ago as my daily driver for this reason. 15-20 years ago I used to rebuild 65-66 Mustangs as a hobby and there was always an older gentlemen or lady that would pay big money for the nostalgia of owning an old mustang, but that generation is now 70-85 years old. Many have passed on and most that are still with us don’t drive and are giving their cars to their kids that immediately sell them for something more modern. The 993 is obviously a later model car and of course a Porsche, but this happens to all cars to varying degrees over time.

Awesome I have a 997.1 turbo manual. In silver with red brake calipers and black leather inside. Only thing I want now is the new infotainment system. Mr grey t shirt nose is broken , he shouldn’t fix it as it’s probably going to be broken again due to his dumbass comments. Definitely agree that the 997 is much smaller vs the 991. I test drove the 991.1 turbo s. It’s much faster than the 997, but also feels bigger and just more serious. When I got back into my 997 I was happy to have it and will be keeping it for a bit longer. 3 years of ownership and 37000km (10000km done by me)

The 997 infotainment head unit is amazing, particularly for the 997.1 as it gets rid of that outdated phone in exchange for a larger, color touch screen. It really bridges the analog feel of the 997 with modern interior experience. Definitely worth the money.

The big change for the 997 Turbo, rarely mentioned, is the AWD system. The 997’s AWD system is essentially a modern version of the 959’s which uses computers. The 996 used the second gen AWD system which is not as advanced as the ones in the 964 & 997.

The only reason the Turbo S is under $100k is because it only came in PDK.. Enthusiasts only want Manuals..

LMAO spoken like someone who has never driven a Turbo with both or a manual NA 911, why would you want a 3.6 to 60 (to row 2 gears to 100mph) vs 2.8 in a Turbo S PDK, Turbo DFI cars are so fast they need be PDK anyone who drives these cars on road or track knows this. NA 911s should be manual they are slow, Turbo DFI 911s need to be PDK

@@KCMotamedy i agree with the NA vs Turbo fact. However, as a actual enthusiast and not someone who only wants to go fast in 1 direction, i prefer a manual all day. I loved my 997.2 4S Manual, and even more now my 997.2 Manual Turbo. Way more engaging and more fun than a PDK, sure i might not be the fastest down the drag strip, but i enjoy daily driving a Porsche 911 Turbo and rowing my gears.. if i want to go fast in a straight line or have computer drive by wire garbage, i'd buy an EV.. which i will never...

PDK are fun around the corners…nailing a shift while exiting a corner with two hands on the wheel is a different (and equally entertaining) experience!

David Jacobson always has to knock the 996. I own a 40th AE and I love it as it's designed and as it performs. It's a pure 911. Jacobson can't get past the headlights and pissing off the purists. The 997 is big, heavy, and it only has 320hp. And it's not a 993.
