Man, the amount of people giving different timelines or debunking I don’t know what to believe. It’s feeling like speculation and personal biases. I can’t really judge if both their marriages were dead in the water and were friends before and decided to date after. Of course, it is a mess if there was an overlap or some kind of sordid affair or emotional infidelity happened. It wasn’t meant to be either or, if all it took was so little for it to crumble. Very, very little to shake this supposed everlasting love in each of their marriages. Seemed they were disengaged and complacent from the jump. Covid lockdown really rattled a lot of couples, huh? Edit: I know Ethan and his wife were hs sweethearts, I never said they got together in Covid, only that covid resulted in many long and short term relationships to disintegrate. To be a home wrecker is very intentional and insidious. To drop seeds of doubt in someone and phase them out of their families lives. To proposition intimacy while they are very much still in a committed relationship. I can’t in good conscience claim that happened because I’m not a fly on the wall. I can speculate, but can’t confirm. There are a hundred variations on how the failure of both their relationships came about and how their new one started up. I can assume their friendship was too close for comfort or a plethora of things, but I can’t confidently assume an overlap.

Its clear Lilly thought everything is ok at least up until June 1st so you can easily reject the separation narration and if you do so, there is no "unclear" stuff anymore because separation was something they came up with quickly to minimaze the backlash. + Lilly and Ethan were not a covid relationship and they lasted until the filming, the covid thing can only apply to Ariana. The kid wasnt even 1 yo so for how they could have been separated? Again, the timeline is only unclear to you because of an attempt of damage control and it was clearly enough to gaslight some people. And i dont think that a chance to date an a list pretty singer is "very little" to shake the relationship, especially when you are away from your partner and your relationship is old, every strong chemichal love wears off after 3-4 years. For Ethan it gave him so many press opportunities and looking at the videos where cameras caught him, he really enjoys the attention. Its not the first celebrity affair that began at work.

Only mentioned that a lot of couples (long and short term) seem to have suffered from the close proximity and isolation from covid and a lot of breakups and domestic abuses statistics had actually risen up in that window of time. Ethan chose to see Ariana’s presence as more valuable than his partners. *allegedly* Falling out out of love with your partner isn’t just a watershed moment where you are presented with bait or an excuse to stray. I’m just saying that it’s likely both were over it and both relationships were already experiencing a death rattle. It sucks if their partners were truly blindsided and thought things were great and would’ve stayed great, but then their lives would’ve been pretty lies if that happened. if they think they’d still be happily married if these new people didn’t come in their lives I think it’s pretty deflective and naive. I say it’s a dodged bullet that it ended instead of them spending their lifetimes in such a shaky relationship. Complacency and fear keeps a lot of people together when it clearly has overstayed it’s welcome. I wish the concept of eternal love was simple, but it’s not. I salute anyone still passionately in love and on their 50th wedding anniversary, but it’s not exactly a common occurrence. I honestly don’t care of Ariana and SpongeBob last or not. This could just be a rebound thing where they’re licking each others wounds because it is pretty humiliating to have a public divorce or failed relationship. Even more humiliating to be painted loser cheaters. They could break up next month for all I care. My only point is that both their marriages failed likely far before any straying. It’s why people stray in the first place? They are unfulfilled or out of love in their current relationship. It sucks, they should’ve been more communicative with their partners, and they are responsible for any distress they’ve given their exes, but that’s where we’ve landed.

Ariana is a fantastic singer and I saw her live during her Dangerous Woman era. Sweetner is still my favorite album because her album came out right when I was dealing with anxiety and a rough breakup so her album was comforting. I give her my props and appreciate her songwriting and singing abilities, however, the only song I really do like on this album is bye. The rest of her songs while she sounds great, I just feel like she's trying to gaslight the public into liking her again and I don't appreciate how she expects us to love her again when she takes no accountability for her problematic behaviors.
