I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

They might seem unnecessary, but if you've lived in a place that even just had two stories high ceilings in certain rooms, one you get used to that it is very hard to enjoy typical 10-ft high ceilings or whatever the usual measurement is.

$500 million was always a ludicrous price, there more for publicity than anything else, but I'd be amazed if this place makes anything close to $295 million at auction; I'd expect the top bid to be around $100 million at most and that may be optimistic. Nobody needs 21 bedrooms, 42 bathrooms etc. Anyone rich enough to buy this place could afford to convert a lot of the space into something more useful, although I'm not sure what; almost anything I can think of is probably already going to be part of the house. They'd also need to spend money on turning it into a home rather than the sterile exhibition piece it is at the moment. The main story here is, I think, the astonishing hubris of the developers.

I'm sure they didn't show the rest of the tech either because of time constraints or security reasons but that tiny screen told me all I needed to know about how crappy the tech is. And all that white marble...UGH! I'd be so depressed in all that white. I'd never get my brain to shut off. Quite the price drop from the 500mil they were asking. Nobody wants to buy it because maintaining it would be a logistical nightmare. The amount of staff and assistants to the staff required to run that "house" properly is just a headache.
@TheRisskee2 жыл бұрын
Someone will definitely buy it but how long they own it is another matter for sure. Just for events alone, you'd have to hire security to keep "guests" in or out of certain places. At least, that's what I was thinking whilst watching it. People are snoopers and get their kicks out of going places they shouldn't. Especially if they're drunk and feeling amorous. Then, as you mentioned, all the staff for everything else. Unless this were turned into a a luxury rehab or a mini luxury hotel, it's not practical for really anything lifestyle worthy. Its only beauty is its views because nothing about that place is "pretty" inside. Not one single room I saw felt warm or inviting. Sure, it could be nicer when stuff is moved in. I understand something like this is next to impossible to stage on a budget so I didn't expect the staging to be any level of great with something this big. I'm also disappointed with the lack of technology in the house. They may not have shown all the tech features due to time constraints and/or security reasons but if that tiny screen by the door is any indication of how lackluster the tech is, I don't need to see any more to know it sucks. The best thing they could do is rent it out for movie/tv shoots because it isn't practical for much. I feel like there's a point where a property gets so large and impractical that I starts to depreciate in value over time and isn't a good investment. This is clearly already at that point.

We hire over 100 bodyguards and servants in order to fill the house so houses like this are never empty...we are most times scared to leave our homes ...so tell me how we can constantly help the poor....we do help the poor but it is not consistent ..I am just being honest with u..we can't be consistent even if we want to because it could cost us our lives..please not every rich person is heartless ok let me cut it short here but one day if or when you get there u will understand and u will see if comments like this will make u happy.

This is what happens when some people just have too much money. Shame that we have so many homeless people in this country.

There's no such thing as having too much money. We don't live in a communist country where what you earn is dictated. If you're not happy pack up and move to North Korea, Cuba Venezuela etc...there is a reason people leave those countries in droves yo get away from that garbage.

I 100% agree with you. I hate that so many lives could change with the blessing of a person that can help. Kindness, humanity is mostly gone epically on people that make comments like Cristina Gusatu (below) Open your eyes and heart to know that the majority of homeless people are handicap and families with children that have lost everything and some with no families to turn to. So we look at the wealthy people of the world in disappointment because they build pointless things like this house.

I remember when this house came up at the $500,000,000 and some months later was over $300M and now this video under the $300M, and this will devaluate even more. Too big of a property without anything that can set it appart from other million dollar listings. Can you imagine the maintenace costs and the monthly utility bills from this mammoth?

The wisest thing that should be on every wise individual's list is to invest in different stream of income and don't depend on the government to bring in money especially now the pandemic is hitting the economy
