I'm 54 and my wife and I are VERY worried about our future, gas and food prices rising daily. We have had our savings dwindle with the cost of living into the stratosphere, and we are finding it impossible to replace them. We can get by, but can't seem to get ahead. My condolences to anyone retiring in this crisis, 30 years nonstop just for a crooked system to take all you worked for.

I feel your pain mate, as a fellow retiree, I’d suggest you look into passive index fund investing and learn some more. For me, I had my share of ups and downs when I first started looking for a consistent passive income so I hired an expert advisor for aid, and following her advice, I poured $30k in value stocks and digital assets, Up to 200k so far and pretty sure I'm ready for whatever comes.

Purchasing a home is already a very difficult thing to do, unless you pay cash or don’t get a loan from the government. If only my minimum monthly house payment, over the course of 30 years I’ll pay more than double what my home is worth. I purchased before things got crazy so I got a good interest rate. I couldn’t imagine trying to rent or buy right now..

The bedroom/bathroom count is obviously insane, but I fully would want the super high ceilings if I was rich enough for a sizable house. Tall ceilings make a home feel SO much nicer, and open, and less claustrophobic. They might seem unnecessary, but if you've lived in a place that even just had two stories high ceilings in certain rooms, one you get used to that it is very hard to enjoy typical 10-ft high ceilings or whatever the usual measurement is.

It is an office building. It literally is an upscale office building that they are trying to pass off as some kind of unique mansion. I've seen videos of homes where I thought to myself "Wow, it would be really cool to be there in person." For this house I just thought "I've already been to tons of places like this. Office buildings, malls, hotels." There just isn't anything special about it.

$500 million was always a ludicrous price, there more for publicity than anything else, but I'd be amazed if this place makes anything close to $295 million at auction; I'd expect the top bid to be around $100 million at most and that may be optimistic. Nobody needs 21 bedrooms, 42 bathrooms etc. Anyone rich enough to buy this place could afford to convert a lot of the space into something more useful, although I'm not sure what; almost anything I can think of is probably already going to be part of the house. They'd also need to spend money on turning it into a home rather than the sterile exhibition piece it is at the moment. The main story here is, I think, the astonishing hubris of the developers.

Could have built a $30-50mm house that looks just as great and livable, take the rest of the money and built an office complex, or multifamily development and collected rent. Omg! Idk why I didn't even think of that until I read this comment! 😱 solar panels can be built into everything at this point and he didn't do it. But figures because what little I saw of the tech in that place, it's pretty abominable. That tiny screen at the door?! Seriously?! I'm sure they didn't show the rest of the tech either because of time constraints or security reasons but that tiny screen told me all I needed to know about how crappy the tech is. Everyone keeps saying how amazing the developer is but nothing I saw was really all that spectacular. Nothing about the build or the engineering is new or different or even hard to accomplish. And all that white marble...UGH! I'd be so depressed in all that white. I'd never get my brain to shut off. The only thing nice about this place is the views and the developer had very little to do with that. Even the "art" and spars furnishings are laughable.

@TheRisskee
@TheRisskee 2 жыл бұрын
Someone will definitely buy it but how long they own it is another matter for sure. Just for events alone, you'd have to hire security to keep "guests" in or out of certain places. At least, that's what I was thinking whilst watching it. People are snoopers and get their kicks out of going places they shouldn't. Especially if they're drunk and feeling amorous. Then, as you mentioned, all the staff for everything else. Unless this were turned into a a luxury rehab or a mini luxury hotel, it's not practical for really anything lifestyle worthy. Its only beauty is its views because nothing about that place is "pretty" inside. Not one single room I saw felt warm or inviting. Sure, it could be nicer when stuff is moved in. I understand something like this is next to impossible to stage on a budget so I didn't expect the staging to be any level of great with something this big. I'm also disappointed with the lack of technology in the house. They may not have shown all the tech features due to time constraints and/or security reasons but if that tiny screen by the door is any indication of how lackluster the tech is, I don't need to see any more to know it sucks. The best thing they could do is rent it out for movie/tv shoots because it isn't practical for much. I feel like there's a point where a property gets so large and impractical that I starts to depreciate in value over time and isn't a good investment. This is clearly already at that point.

I guess the goal of the developer was to simply go big on everything and break records, instead of developing a warm and welcoming home.
@TuanNguyen-uq8gz
@TuanNguyen-uq8gz 2 жыл бұрын
and then he'll be broke just to have those records? This house alone is already a burden for the developer since he needs to pay millions per year just for maintenance and tax without gaining anything. He initially asked for $500M, and now he decreases the value of this mansion for more than $200M meaning he desperately wants to sell this asap.

It literally disgusts me that there are families living in their cars or in tents on the side of the streets and then monstrosities like this exist. We are a selfish species! There needs to be a little more balance in wealth. These big companies should have to pay their workers a wage people can live a comfortable life off of. There is no need for there to be people who work losing their homes to foreclosure or being evicted cuz they can’t pay their rent when it goes up. So freaking sad!

I thought the same way as u when I wasn't too successful but now I own something similar to this, not for bragging sake but when u become rich like this nobles and business people just like you or more than you want you dead even sometimes families and friends so when u buy these kind of houses, if there is an invasion it's hard for them to find you no matter what .And it also helps u to buy time to either escape or hide ...it's never for fashion and it's funny how u people think we enjoy life to the fullest,every day we live our lives like we could lose it at anytime while we have innocent kids who have to live in that kind of fear every day of our lives and u think we are always happy ..listen! everyone has a problem stop letting people think we have no problems, we are humans just like all of u. We hire over 100 bodyguards and servants in order to fill the house so houses like this are never empty...we are most times scared to leave our homes ...so tell me how we can constantly help the poor....we do help the poor but it is not consistent ..I am just being honest with u..we can't be consistent even if we want to because it could cost us our lives..please not every rich person is heartless ok let me cut it short here but one day if or when you get there u will understand and u will see if comments like this will make u happy.

Kindness, humanity is mostly gone epically on people that make comments like Cristina Gusatu (below) Open your eyes and heart to know that the majority of homeless people are handicap and families with children that have lost everything and some with no families to turn to. So we look at the wealthy people of the world in disappointment because they build pointless things like this house.
