@@randomahhuser it's like a high end hotel with various amenities. The design choices depends on taste. Aside from high cost, the sheer size and location....I personally do not find the overall design to really stand out. If you look a many other home tours from Enes, you will find many lower cost homes with nicer designs that feels like home, more liveable. This one just feels like a place you go to work, or have fun, then you leave and go home.

Agreed. Way too over the top. I would be bored out of my mind! It's like an office building. That is just way too large and cold looking. I liked the indoor pool. And it was a beautiful view. I'd rather have a very nice cabin in Jackson Hole. If I had that kind of money. I would own 2 or three much smaller homes around the country in the mountains/wilderness and on the ocean. Maybe a boat for a lake house and a small yacht for the beach house. Basically vacation areas. Or I would buy all the homes on one very private dead end on the water some where and give all the houses except one (for myself) to my family and friends. Just enough to have privacy and space without needing a golf cart to go to the bathroom.

There's certainly some very "sexy" stuff here, but this is really more like a conference center/resort/hotel campus vibe. It's easy to appreciate the creativity that goes in to these architectural extravaganzas, but I suspect that even the wealthiest owner would end up feeling pretty lonely and never even begin to utilize the space and amenities. It's a delightful visual flight-of -fancy, though, and I have always LOVED the idea of a "modern moat". Cool tour.

Even the prince of royal family in Middle East cannot afford this day to day maintenance of this mansion. Even if someone can afford, it'll suck their pocket dry immediately without receiving back. This mansion is good for renting to high-profiled individual visiting the states.

Mind boggling, it is. As much as the size, scale, and incredible attention to detail overwhelmes, I'd be hard pressed to call it a home. Due to its size, it would be almost impossible to feel any connection beyond being overwhelmed.

I cannot imagine the logistics and cost of just running this home. The home MUST come with an array of different crews and contractors that clean, cook, and maintain this HUGE house. This video did not mention the staff needed to run this place, nor their living quarters. You would need at least 4 full time live-in housekeepers, 2 personal maids for the women of the house, a nanny for the young children, 1 butler for the man, and another butler for the family. A full-time live-in chef and a kitchen assistant, a landscaper-gardener, and a general operations/houseman who maintains and fixes all the electrical, mechanical, construction issues. And, perhaps at least two personal assistants for the man and lady of the house. Also, a chauffeur/driver who would run errands and bring in deliveries. A security chief would also be needed, since every west L.A. social-climbing freak would try to break into the property just to take a selfie and post on social media. This is just the bare staff for the residents. For parties, events and functions, you will need valets, caterers, party planners, event staff, and a larger security staff, as well as a huge set-up and janitorial crew. The larger the property, the larger the team needed to run it. This building is a cross between a plush private resort hotel and a large grand office building plaza complex. The problem will be selling it, because there are only a handful of billionaires who would be able to buy it, and most likely, they would either modify it or tear it down and rebuild to suit their own needs. Super rich people do not adapt themselves to other people's homes. They need homes designed specifically to their every whim and taste, so it would not be easy to unload this mega mansion without dropping the price considerably, knowing that the next owner will redecorate it to his taste.

This space would be much better suited for commercial purposes considering how ridiculously enormous it is. Liked the spin the real-estate agent did by saying, "The One is legendary for the past 12 yrs.".... It is because for the past decade they haven't been able to sell a bland postmodern themed mall they classified as a house. It went from $500 million to $250 million and STILL can't sell. Nobody wants to actually live in a mall or a quarter billion for a house in LA. In the early 2000s, I had the opportunity to tour Larry Ellison's $150 million estate in Woodside, CA. That place was truly amazing. There was nothing tacky or gawdy about it. There was a man made lake that everything was built around, which included a button where he could control the level of fog over the water. The materials he used were divine. There were Japanese tea houses all around the lake. Every little detail displayed the highest level of materials and craftsmanship. He flew in wood workers from Japan because they were the best in their trade. My boyfriend worked there. They all stayed in a home nearby that his employer rented out, and they would shuttle to work every day. They used hand tools that looked medieval. The first couple hours of the day, they would spend just sharpening their tools with these little stone blocks. The tools would be carefully rolled up in a leather pouch. The roofs on the home and the tea houses were a work of art. Everything was so warm and so natural and beautiful. I truly can't find the words to describe it. If I was wealthy, I could live in a home like that, and I could justify the money spent because everything was meticulously hand crafted. The home and the materials were at one with nature. Every inch of the property felt warm and inviting and natural. This place, The One, is cold and a bit gawdy. They use nice materials, but there's nothing warm or natural about it. A lot of the materials don't really look any different than what you would find at Home Depot. It's just big and cold. I think it would make a fabulous destination for events, like a wedding, but I can't imagine it ever feeling like a home.

Excellent production once again by Mikey, Enes and the team . As an architect , I think this building doesn’t do well as a house and fails as a ‘home’ . LeCoebusier once said ‘a house is a machine for living in ‘. For an individual to live in this building , it doesn’t work due to its inhuman scale . I counted at least 150-200 seats throughout the building 130-180 of those being irrelevant if it was just a family or even with multiple guests living in it . A house may just be to house an individual , a home is ‘where the heart is’. And the incredible scale of this building doesn’t lend itself to a connection with an inhabitant . The development feels like a small city , being crammed into the description of what a house could or should be . Where it succeeds , and succeeds in abundance is as a high end resort , housing at least 30-40 people at a time with at least 10 full time staff . It’s still impossible to connect with the building but , as a guest for a shorter amount of time , you don’t have to . You can enjoy the spectacle of grandeur from a distance . For that this is the perfect world to spend time in and may even get close to money well spent !

It has never been the "Most Expensive House in the US " until its completed and sold. In March 2022 it sold for just $110M. This house was developed by some guy called Nile Niam (film producer / real estate developer). He spent 8 years building it, in fact remained under construction as explained on the show. At one point this property was expected to valued at $500M and the agents on this video had it at $295M...really!! The developer defaulted on the $110M loan so it went to auction and sold in March 2022 for just $141M to Richard Saghian, owner of fast-fashion "Fashion Nova".
