The problem of Nigeria is subjugation not corruption. Everything is controlled from the center. The North (Hausa/Fulani) controls the center. They will never allow the South benefit from its own resources. Southern Nigeria is an open air concentration camp. Sadly many cannot see it.

As a non-Nigerian (Kenyan), this was heart- breaking and infuriating to watch. I had no idea this place existed. This video touches my heart ❤️🌺🌹🕊️. Because we have a school in Jamaica that is named after this place, which means that some of the people were brought from Calabar to Jamaica. Jamaica is a very beautiful country, but it is plagued with some of very same problems. Greedy politicians who misappropriate public funds for their personal use at the expense of people are destroying our countries.

Exactly because of poor wages, value of naira and unemployment or underemployment. To restore Nigeria integrity and economy vibe, the value of naira, living wages and employment for all needs to be address. Your analysis is simple, but, to he candid you are the only person who it right in all the comments here. Truly the land is green, that's where the flag got its colours from. The Mambilla Plateau is another waste Tourist potential, the highest mountain in Nigeria is found there, the Mambilla is even higher than Obudu Ranch Resorts. On top of the high Mambilla Plateau is very flat and it is a local government. Sad for Nigeria, the government has failed us.

Calabar also had the best public transport system in NIGERIA; it was called “metro blue” buses and very beautiful looking taxis. EbonyLife was once broadcasting from Calabar and the movie “Half of a Yellow Sun” featuring the award winning Chiwetel Ejiofor was shot in Tinapa and Calabar. When Calabar was at its peak it was a crime to litter the streets and you would get arrested if you did, it was clean and green and ahead of it’s time. Now, we weep for the state.

This broke my heart. In my entire life, I have never ever wanted or desired to visit Nigeria because to me as a West African, we live under the same circumstances so there’s really nothing different to see, but this video showed me so much that I desired to go and experience the tourism village, except as usual, it has been shut down. As I said, we all live under the same circumstances. Less than 30 minutes from where I live is a gorgeous park with a dancing fountain that rivaled that in Dubai. People travelled from other parts of the country to come and see it, and now, it’s shut down. We deserve better! Our hard earned money in the form of taxes are used to build these beautiful edifices. And they are just allowed to be run down. The place is so beautiful, Steven. The view from the drone is breathtaking. I’m sad. Just sad. Will things ever change? It’s disheartening.

I made a movie here in 2012, even then it was already in a bad shape. Seeing these places now through your drone shots breaks my heart. Nothing has been done to revive Cross river state tourism since Donald Duke left, everything collapsed. More than 15 years ago. Its a shame. This video shows genuinely the result of bad governance in Nigeria. Welldone Steven 👌💯
