Ever heard of NBA players saying a specific player on their team were on ice tubs and can't stand anymore or something like that while guarding specific players? They have better endurance and stamina than average people, but doesn't mean they have unlimited supply. Stamina is still a factor in professional sports even if they are superhuman.

He definitely meant his heart and focus was never in the defensive parts of practice. He was talented and big enough that him just standing in the lane was enough most of the time. Seems like at mid-season, there are four tiers of teams in each conference, all sorted by almost identical records, each comprising roughly a quarter of the teams in the league. BOS, PHI, MIL in the East, and OKC, MIN, DEN, and LAC in the West, are Tier 1 Contenders at roughly 30+ wins, and within a game or two of each other (23% of teams in the league). Tier 2 Competitors rounding out playoff spots are NYK, CLE, MIA, and IND, and in the West, SAC, PHX, NOP, and DAL. All are 5-6 games behind Tier 1, and capable of being Tier 1 contenders by April (27% of teams). Tier 3 scrappy play-in teams, include ORL, CHI, ATL, BKN, TOR, LAL, UTA, HOU, and GSW, all are around 10 games back, who could pull off an upset and win a first round playoff series should they qualify for a post-season (30% of teams). Lastly, there's a Tier 4 of tanking, featuring CHA, WAS, and DET in the East, and MEM, POR, and SAS in the West, all playing for lottery position 20+ games behind Tier 1 (20%). To me, this clustering suggests Tier 2 teams need to be the ones to make moves at the deadline to become more competitive, and we've seen that so far in the East - Rozier to MIA, Siakim to IND, Anunoby to NYK. Based on this trend, I'd expect it continue with SAC, NOP, DAL - and maybe even PHX if they can afford it - to make a move before the deadline as well, acquiring players from Tiers 3 and 4.

As a Bulls fan, as much as I love watching Caruso and him as a player in general, his value is sky high right now. We aren't going anywhere and we need to move him when he's got value. We have a few good young guys to keep around, but moving Caruso sadly has to be the play. Vuc, Lavine and Derozan are all top of the list as well. We need to move at least 2 of those guys. Build around Coby and despite PWill's slow start he's getting more steady and confident.

@@tokdo4960 if both teams don't have to give up too much for Drummond, a big body in the paint, I am sure, is always welcome. Drummond is an excellent player on offense but a liability on defense. He played for the Lakers a while ago when LBJ and AD were out with injuries and it was refreshing watching a big play with his back to the basket. Bruce Brown is dogged and "goes after it", he doesn't mind doing the work and getting under people's skin which is important in the playoffs. Kenny is right. It’s like the nuggets offense, or the 80s Celtics/lakers. Why do those flashy no look passes work? Because they believe their teammate will be there. You shouldn’t have to worry about where your help defense is, you should know they’ll be there if you send your man to a certain spot. That’s on the players not caring on defense.

Not sure Carlisle likes him... he is signed to 8 million for several years. He is an automatic lightning rod off the bench. His Points per minutes played is really good. Imagine if the Bucks stole him away from the Pacers... I also would love to see him re-unite with fellow friend and Montrealer native, Lu Dort in OKC. Again off the bench... in both cases... a couple of first round picks and an expiring contrat role player maybe gets this done... Mathurin is a gamer. Mathurin shows up in the really big games...

Philly needs to find a way to get Cam Thomas from the Nets to fill that 6th man role. Maybe the Nets will be just stupid enough to give him up. Or maybe they can get Dinwiddie. Even before the season started I said the Bucks would have to make a move at the deadline. Giving up Grayson Allen was a stupid move by them in my opinion. If they can someone get a Bruce Brown or Caruso and some bench scoring depth they'll have a chance. The Celtics are just too deep, but their biggest problems are Porzingis' health and coaching. If he stays healthy throughout the playoffs they win it all. If not they're beatable. I still don't trust Mazzulla, but we'll see.

If Milwaukee ever made a trade like Middleton (& Draft picks) for say F.Wagner or Maybe a Klay Thompson that just might put them over the top???

Andre Drummond is the hottest piece on the market and I think he's the big trade before the deadline.

The heat need to ad a defensive center and move bam to power forward. Bucks need to move Middleton and get three pieces two wings and a pg Sixers could use more depth at guard and small forward. Harris contract big enough to do it. Lavine is a good player but not a game changer he doesn't win you games but he is talented. Gsw Orlando and the kings could be a good fit for him. DeMar needs a team that can easily use his mid range game and to me he is probably a sixth man I think the bucks could use him but contract to big and I don't see a way unless he is bought out there aren't many teams he fits on these days

kennys slow, in the playoffs you only play 6-8 guys .. if you can have your 7th and 8th man be able to give you starter quality production any given game thats huge.. especially with the new apron coming were gonna see a lot more teams (basically built like Boston)with only 2 max guys and maybe another close one, and then their 4-8 spots are all gonna be good role players and pieces that fit their team. your 9-12 spots dont really matter in the playoffs when your best guys are playing 40+ min
