this may be one of the greatest playoff runs of all time right here. A play in team that BARELY squeaked into the playoffs as 8 seed knocked out the 1 seed dominant bucks. Then they go on and convincingly take out the knicks in 6. And now they in ecf and stole home court from the celtics, the team that was favored to win the chip after bucks. Heat is just clearly the more hungry team. When they're down they don't give up on any play, and when they're up they also don't give up on any play. They're constantly attacking and always disciplined. Celtics only have that kind of energy and focus when the entire team is shooting well and everything is going their way.

Feels like the Seahawks but basketball. Don't expect too much with their 1st round draft picks, but always money at 5th rounds and below, even UDFAs. Culture also plays a part I think. Both of them are like playing with house money, people are writing them off, discrediting their opponents for playing badly etc. These are athletes at 99th percentile at their craft with only a miniscule inferiority to their opponents talent-wise, but with added motivation and focus. Both Kyle and Love have championship experience. Butler is a rare player who can dominate on both ends. Tatum is a star. Just like Brunson with the Knicks. I think, Coach Spo is one of the smartest people in the NBA. Heat are obviously smaller and tighter than the best teams in the league. But they compensate with huge adaptability. Eric knows the strengths and weaknesses of all teams, and exploits them to the maximum. The Heat try to minimize errors and utilize their kit. KL said it in one interview - Heat don't want to choke in the paint. And we clearly saw that with Bam. He was comfortable shooting mid-rangers from open spots. There's no rushing. If needed, players make an extra pass or two. When I watched Celtics, they were playing their game. High pace, lots of shots, quick decisions. And this was the biggest trap. Heat players had few more days to rest. Instead of going toe-to-toe, they tried to minimize their losses in the first half. I'm damn sure Spo knew that Boston will try to open a big gap, so they don't have to waste much energy later on, and "cruise", much like Denver did against Lakers (although it was quite nervous at the end). I'm 95% sure that Boston will win game 2. They can't afford to lose it, as they'll hand Miami an opportunity for an easy sweep. On the other hand, Heat will try to preserve energy in game 2, as they did with Milwaukee and Knicks.
