There'll be another generation of players to watch. The game is bigger than any individual player (casuals have a hard time understanding that). Also, while I don't like the whole betting industry that's now part of the game, it's around because fans are invested in it enough to make it profitable. The NFL is also deeply in bed with sports betting, but you won't complain about that affecting its popularity. Lastly, other than with players who have a history of serious injuries, or are older, where do you see load management being a factor on who plays? Are Giannis, Jokic, Doncic, SGA, Ant, Tatum, Brown, Brunson, and most of the other stars in the game still in their prime load management?

Embid came in the league with lower body injuries. It was his foot at first. This is nothing new for him or the Sixers. The way he plays and how hard he plays and with the amount of possessions in a game today running up and down he'll never be injury free. That's why he's always injured in the playoffs the regular season is too hard on his body especially when he's trying to get awards and play through injuries doing so. Fans don't think logically they don't think about all that extra stuff they just want to see him on the court hurt or not.

If I were Philly I would advise Embid to take up boxing training to cut weight and strengthen his legs and core. Giannis did it and it changed his body. Embid might need to be within perfect BMI range to lighten the load on his legs and increase his stamina. If he continues to be overweight in any way his lower body injuries will always be a problem. He looks slimmer now, but I think he could be in way better shape to help keep him on the court more often.

The difference is Embid came in the league with lower extremity injuries and they persist to this day. When he's feeling right he's an MVP front runner and averaging 30 a game. A lazy player wouldn't produce like that. A lazy player is someone like DeAndre Ayton who could do more , but is content with being regular. Embid really has injury problems and the more and harder he plays they will bother him he just has to get in the best shape possible and hope that can help keep him on the floor. Anthony Davis is another player with the same type of problems.
