To think that Thomas Andrews walked through that exact entrance and on those stairs... Wow!

Tom this look's brilliant when Anne and I get over ThIs place is a MUST, I didn't realise it incorporated both the drawing offices, so glad you filmed this and I don't know why I haven't come across this before now lol, excellent.C.

I'm glad to have surprised you Chris. It is pretty classy. You pay a bit extra for a cuppa but you can dander round the old offices etc at your leisure.

Very interesting! They seemed to put a decent amount of effort into showcasing some of the history - which is great!

This place is something else CC. I reckon it is now one of th best places to go in Belfast especially if you are a history buff. The scones are great too. Parking could be a bit of as pain though. There is the underground car park close by. We parked out the front in the large drop off area which isn't used a lot for much of the day. So happy days.

I absolutely love when you combine something very old with modern just like the titanic museum. The rusty coloring give it an iconic feeling.

Hey thanks for calling in AlexCH27. Yes I like seeing the old alongside the new too. It makes you realize how far we have come and appreciate the talent, industry and tough times that our forefathers endured to get us where we are today.

Excellent video Tom!. I didn’t realise when I was there that you could explore more of the hotel, as you have shown in your video. I have seen the other areas before it was restored, but I think a return visit is needed to see for myself the changes made!. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Colin, This is a wonderful addition to the Titanic area. An excellent mix of living museum/art gallery/exhibition site, hotel and top class eatery. People need to realize it is not just a 4 star hotel. What a brilliant location too! We will go back again for sure. You can even get away with parking out the front at quiet times during the day and especially during the evening. Best wishes. ps I was really surprised that they allowed me, in fact encouraged me, to video everywhere. I thought there might be restrictions.

Fantastic video mate,that model of the Titanic is brilliant!so much history well done!
@TomMcClean7 жыл бұрын
I tried to find out where the model had come from but no one knew and there was no plaque on it. There is a lot of original stuff in the hotel. This makes it come alive for me. This is no ordinary hotel.
@vindicari6 жыл бұрын
I can only assume you do not know what Titanic looked like, this is probably the most inaccurate model of Titanic I have ever seen, and for the management of the Titanic hotel to display that, well all I can say is they must have their eyes painted on.

not surprised no plaque I would be embarrassed to claim that

Good video I was at Titanic quarter a couple of days ago and was photographing the building and the Samson and goliath cranes it’s a lovely place to go and visit haven’t been and to any of the buildings yet but I will be soon I expressly want to go to the hotel 👍🏻
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your encouragement Paul. Yes get into the hotel for at least coffee and a scone. You will pay a bit extra but hey you are in the actual Titanic Drawing offices and you are free to walk round. Go round the back area for all the authentic rooms. There are paintings and photographs all over the place. Get on to the Nomadic tender for a look at how Titanic really must have looked like. The Nomadic took Titanic passengers out to the bigger ship to board in Cherbourg.The Nomadic has a big history all of its' own too. Get yourself on to the HMS Caroline, the last surviving ship from the WW1 battle of Jutland 1916. This was my favourite tour of all. Get yourself into the Titanic dock walk along the bottom. This is the Thompson dock where the Titanic and many others were built. Hope you have a great time.

What a place Tom, when did it open?
@TomMcClean7 жыл бұрын
It is full of history. You don't have to spend a packet either. You can go in and buy teas and scones. They will cost a bit more but then you can walk round the full inside and take photos and videos like I did. I did ask and they were all for it! I was surprised about this. I thought they would be touchy about videoing. As long as you aren't pointing the camera at people to annoy them. We will be going back. Fascinating place that opened a few weeks ago.

THE FUNNELS ARE WAY TO HIGH!!!!!!!! PROPERLY DOUBLE SIZED
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
You may well be right Gabe. Some other posters have said similar. I'll criticize the model when I can produce something noticeably better. -And I'm not trying to be smart. Thanks for calling in.

Titanic was designed in this building, how can the management put such an inaccurate model on display and represent it as Titanic.? There are fans from all over the world visiting Belfast now for the ship, how many of them must scratch their heads and wonder if Belfast knows what Titanic looked like.
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
Agreed Vindicari this is a very poor show.
@vindicari6 жыл бұрын
who the fekk made that model? a pity the hotel owners did not check it for accuracy before displaying it.
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
Yes Vindicari a number of posters have said this. It's a pity the model takes the shine off the place a bit.

The model was not right
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
You may be right WhoStoleMySocks I'm sure that there are some small differences. It would be hard to get everything absolutely correct after all this time.
@whostolemysocks27986 жыл бұрын
Nope there where big differences
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
Sorry You see I'm not clued up enough to spot even the small differences. You obviously know your stuff about Titanic. I'm afraid I don't. In my ignorance I thought it was a good effort. Best wishes.

Nice video, but the scale model is very far away from the best. Its horrible, the proportions and the colour on the stern (in nameplate and homeport-area is wrong. Looks like the modelbuilder was drunken during building. Look at the 1/150 Titanic model by Graupener (I own one), then you know what a good Titanic model is. I think Graupeners Titanic is one of the best. But the model of the drawing room is the ugliest model I've ever seen.
@TomMcClean6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for dropping by Benny. A lot of posters have noticed this model and are saying the same thing as you. The actual hotel is well worth a vist though even for a cuppa and a scone.
