Zero commercial advertisement is good indeed. I remember, in Sweden there's zero commercial advertisement on TV as well.Anyway, North Korea deserves more tourists coming in to see the nation as it is, as it was labeled 'most harmonious nation' in the world; especially with the decades-old U.S. and Western sanctions which caused over a million N. Koreans deaths in starvation in the past. I like to see peace and prosperity that the country richly deserves. blog.chinadaily.com.cn/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=785423

Most of those buildings are empty. With a lot of residential buildings but you don't see old people or young kid freely roaming around. Thus most of them are dark from inside. The whole thing is staged and they did not a very good job with that.

pyongyang is a very spread out city. it has alot of people but they are not usually concentrated in one area at one time. north korea's population also took a massive hit when the US blockaded north korea after the fall of the USSR and they suddenly could not feed their country for a few years, even today the government tries to squeeze as much food out of the limited farmland available in the country as they can and they still can't quite get to everyone.

@@nadia1994ization In Oxford you get coachloads of Chinese tourists fishing cameras/iPhones out and pointing them right in the faces of beggars, then snapping local landmarks. They do this all at the same time in tidy groups. It really is very odd... Apparently they wanted to see an archetypical English village so the coach to Bicester Village (where they *really* want to go - there are Chinese websites devoted to the place) stopped in humble Kidlington (nice enough but hardly a place of note) and they all got off and started photographing the place. This became a regular thing for a while and it was so surreal that the Times ran a leader about it.

A little fun fact about the Pyongyang Metro trains. These trains, as seen in this video, were manufactured and used for public transport in West Berlin between 1955-1965. After this series was eventually exchanged for newer and more modern trains, the BVG (Berlin Public Transport) decided to sell the discarded trains to North Korea in the late 1990's. ^^
