Years ago I obtained some drawn grooved tramway rail in nickel silver and made an OO tramway. I have never seen the like since. So easy to make crossings and turnouts-no extra check rails. Without the equipment or a milling machine, I can only cheat in my final 3/4 inch (1/16) scale tramway and fabricate grooved rail using fine scale OO rail for the separate check rail.

Really quite remarkable and, unlike certain other extremely large layouts, this one is actually a world in miniature such is the attention to detail. Your own modelling skills are outstanding, and I learn a great deal from your scenic work, but kudos to you for showcasing exemplary home-grown talents that are the very pinnacle of the hobby.

Simon, another great video. Really great to see Healey Mills depot building coming along nicely. The depot building was nearly brought back into use by Marcroft as thr Horbury Goods yard was proving too small and difficult to access/shunt. Unfortunately it was leased to EWS and Marcroft intended to maintain Freightliner coal wagons at the depot, so that was the end of the idea. The inspection pit were cleared as a start. This would have been around 2004.

Also great to see the project progressing; the depot buildings look superb … totally bonkers project; love it!! One question; will you be adding any electricity pylons to the layout? Good luck with the next stages … look forward to the updates 👍 Mark

I’ve just laid 150’ of OO gauge code 100 concrete sleeper pandrol flexitrack. It’s wonderful however like many I find the sleepers too close and respaced the whole lot dropping 30 sleepers off each 910mm length, it looks so much better. Would save Peco a bit in plastic if they could do it for us! 😉

Thank You ! As a North American modeller; I have used PECO track since the Early-70's ... Now using its Code # 83 range exclusively. As a ( Now retired ) Rubber + Plastcs / Polymer : Raw Materials supplier; I was fortunate to have visited the then Fenton MO / USA-based : Micro-Engineering factory in 2010 but sadly; have never made it to PECO itself ! In both cases; the labour-accented production process is indeed interesting; but may I humbly suggest that you re-visit the quality of the narration as it undoubtedly compromises the overall video presentation .... 🤙
