Thank you Zoe! You are always helpful on social media. For potential expats, I would like to see different types of neighborhoods, dwellings (condos, houses, affordable, luxury, etc.) and a grocery store tour and prices, local food market selections. Interviews with other expats would be helpful too.

We are in Canada looking to escape to a covid friendly resort in February. We are considering going to the Royalton ( 6 adults over 65 years old). How many restaurants are open and what types? What about entertainment? The resort seems empty or is it the time of day? Appreciate your insight. We want to see Grenada. What are your thoughts about Sandals?
@ExodusCollective3 жыл бұрын
Hi there were three restaurants open when I was there - Taj (Indian), Grazie (Italian) and the main restaurant (International buffet). There were also a couple of beach bars serving food and a pop up restaurant on the beach on Saturday. There was entertainment scheduled across each day (you can check the timetable from the TV in your room) and we definitely enjoyed the live music on the Saturday night. I wouldn't say it was empty but I definitely loved the fact that we were able to enjoy the hotel before it is packed with guests when it's closer to capacity. As for how it compares to Sandals, I've never stayed so I can't really say. Do take time to explore Grenada beyond the hotel - it really is an amazing island!

Hi the Royalton is the only family-friendly all-inclusive in Grenada that I'm aware of. Sandals does not allow kids on its premises.

How about listing what the Royalton is this giving back to Grenadians. Gran Anse is slowly but surely becoming a metropolis for major hotels like; Silver Sands; Sandels… How much trade is this taking away from ordinary folk..

There is so much more to Grenada than swanky hotels, Please catch a bus into town or Give the beach sellers a moment if your time to buy some their handmade goods, instead of the overpriced malls and hotel shops. You know whatever you buy is going directly to the local people. You’ll feel better for it…
@ExodusCollective2 жыл бұрын
I hear you Loydie but, having spoken to a number of guests at the hotel, many people just want to kick back by a pool and enjoy a flow of food and drinks and have little interest in exploring the island. That's just a reality of the tourism market. Would I put myself in that category? No. Would I cover another all-inclusive resort in Grenada? Probably not. But I think it's important to acknowledge that there are all sorts of people looking for all sorts of experiences in Grenada - including those who want to spend 7 days without stepping a foot outside their hotel. How Grenadians benefit from this is a great question. It would be interesting to hear what the Grenada Tourism Authority says about this...

@@ExodusCollective I’ve just arrived home having spent another 2 weeks of bliss in the country of my heritage. What you describe, is exactly the problem being experienced right now. Sadly, even the younger ones, the black well healed and educated, the children of our ancestors that made the sacrifice of travelling across the world to seek prosperity seem to convey the same ignorance as white peoples. I say, Go visit Carriacou for the day, or if you’re adventurous take a stiff walk into town, or catch the bus and visit the spice market. Take the children to visit the Grenada museum, give them the opportunity to savour and understand a bit about their heritage and culture. Even, Observing fisherman preparing there lines, on the selling there fish to the locals on the carrenage. This is the real deal Grenada..

Had a terrible experience at this property on February 7th, 2022. I was on a day pass and was hit in the head. The resort tried everything under the sun N0T to accept responsibilty via a disclaimer even when the disclaimer doesn't cover me lying on a lounge chair. My Attorney has been notified in the event something happens to me to sue the living daylights out of them. A mere scan to find out if there was any swelling in my brain. Don't stay at this propert. I am happy to show anyone the emails.

@@mayebouee8099 It's not as simple as that. There was game between Staff & Guests. When that was completed we went to lounger closer to the beach on the lounge chairs. We were not the only ones. The problem is the management. I certainly plan on dissuading locals and the like not to go on property. I guess they have never heard of 'service recovery'. And I should know as an Int'l Hospitality Hospitality Consultant.
