@ 02:45 that is sculpture is of a canon of old times .. chaghi is a mountain in balochistan where pakistan conducted its first nuclear test in 1998 that turned the mountain white .. the children parks are not deserted actually there were less tourists when you visited .. normally on weekends many study tours are organized by educational institutions around the country for the salt mines ..

Karl you should also try to visit MINGORA: The archaeologists have found the traces of the second missing city of Bazira that was established after the destruction of the lower city in the third century by a catastrophic earthquake. The ancient Bazira is also known as the city of Alexander. There is also a city near by called Barikot a citadel which Alexander captured.

Many people going to a salt mine will have that thought :-) I visited Wieliczka salt mine in Poland a long time ago, I still have a photo of myself licking the wall :D Yes it was salty. *edit:* they also have a whole chapel carved into the rock there and it looks amazing, it's pretty interesting to see the parallels with this salt mine in Pakistan.

Some of them are also milked when they get back home after grazing on hills all day long. How come you didn’t go to the crystal tunnel in there? There’s a long tunnel of crystal salt where they’ve put multicolored lights everywhere and it looks really surreal when you walk throng it, it’s somewhere in the mine and it’s a part of the tour, probably the best looking part. I think you understand Urdu well enough to where you could have listened to the guide, they tell you a lot of interesting stuff about it.

Coool! That's my hometown region. My dad's village is Chotala. I'm half Pakistani half Belgian. Last time I went I visited Khewra as well. Pronounce it Kyoo-rah. So funny you're hitting quite home with me lately since I'm also learning Urdu, just learned the writing system and learning to speak from scratch since I never had anyone to speak with. I knew the letters already from Arabic which are essentially the same, just a different style of writing and some extra letters. Anyway, good on you man. PS I licked the walls.

The salt is called 'Sendha Namak' in my language. Table salt is not allowed for consumption during fasting, rather this one is. Idk the reason.

It is a part of Himalayas. The Himalayas are divided into 3 parts: The Greater Himalayas, the Lesser (Inner)Himalayas, and the Sub (Outer) Himalayas. Salt range is a part of Sub Himalayas. The Salt Range is actually an active frontal thrust zone of the Himalaya in Pakistan.

Himalayas aren't just a place or just one mountain but it is an orogeny which represents a specific time period of its origin and a specific converging margins which caused the uplift of the Himalayas.

@@braveson992 I live in azad Kashmir from Pakistan side and Himalayas are far away from here there is cold and snowy mountains and with high peaks this place is far from Himalayas these two are two different places it's like closest to Lahore city where there is no mountain at all mean close to Punjab and not to khaber pakhtunkhwa it's close to gilgit but its not himaliyas

@@mahaejaz1688 And i Live in Abbottabad and the hills that divide Muzaffarabad (your region), from Abbottabad are also part of lesser Himalayas. Please don't cite your feelings of cold and snowy mountains as a reason for Salt range being not a part of himalayas. Check your facts. Go and read the geology and tectonics of Pakistan by Kazmi and Jan or just go to the Geological survey of Pakistan's website and read it there. You can also search online and you will find hundreds of research articles on Himalayas.

Hey karl , thanks for bring us Indians a refreshed presepctive of pakisthan , majority of Indians have blind hatred for the nation which is probably closest to us in this world ( speaking culturally ofcourse ) its the same for pakisthan , but I can say that this view point is changing , no matter how slow this change is , its happening , and id love to see a less fortified border filled with trade and cultural exchange between our two nations, Finally once again thanks a lot karl :)

Hamalian pink salt is Pakistani product but India importing this salt on cheap rates and exporting in the whole world with his name but not now because Pakistan gets geographical indications to prevent its unauthorized use

Karl, the visa cancelation from India might be a blessing in disguise!! You will gain a lot of viewers in Pakisthan, Turkey and Bangladesh and you would have never tried it so seriously if your visa was not cancelled! I bought a salt lamp from Khewra.. as a piece of rememberance but it melted away☹️

Because it can't tolerate high temperature. Khewra has pretty low temperature so the salt remains in it's solid form.
