Love baker creek seeds, a fun variety. Burpees are more expensive and too many that I don’t need. Agree Migardner channel is awesome!

I do like MIGardener and watched him regularly, I changed to those of you in Florida. I need to stay focused on my climate, our seasons and our soil. You, UrbanHarvest and Wild Floridian are my favorites. I found Tomato Growers Supply Company in Fort Myers, offer disease resistant variety and catalog with good information. I planted their tomatoes for fall, all are doing fabulous unless the cool front kills them :(.

If you like information I recommend Botanical Interest seeds. They have a ton of information in their seed packaging plus they include a pamphlet with instructions of how to grow seeds. They have very good offers especially after spring and in fall. I agree with your experience with Burpee’s but they have great varieties especially their Bibb lettuce and their stringless green beans. I also like American seeds they are sold at the dollar stores and they are very inexpensive with very good germination.

Love Elise @Urban Harvest; in addition to her Seed Club, she has a store for seeds, live plants, AND Florida Natives, and ALL her plants will grow well in Florida, and her planting instructions are specific to North, Central and South Florida. If you are near St Pete, or visiting, you should also consider her live plants which are healthy, locally grown, and a super value compared to box stores (you have to pick up live plants in person). A lesser known, but a seed source that is grown and packaged locally in Central Florida is Asian Garden 2 Table. Regine also makes KZbin videos; her specialty is Asian (Chinese) vegetables in mind-boggling varieties. She does provide really thorough information on how to germinate and grow all the plants, and also classifies her seeds into seasons, and difficulty of growing. Amazing germination rates (100%+ because some seeds are clusters, not just one, BUT so far, I have not had one seed fail).

Lol, yeah… I’ve only recently started to dabble in bakers creek because so many people love them. So far so good. I’m sure folks are right but I always like to test things out fully before I recommend them.

A few weeks ago I started seeds indoors, now under grow lights. The peppers are now about 1-1 1/2” tall. Most have 2 to 3 seedlings growing. Should I prune them? Cut out all but one per spot?

If I were you, I would thin them down to my best 2 per spot. Thin to 1 per spot once they are about 3 inches tall. I would wait to top them until they are about 6-8 inches tall. Also make sure they are up potted to something the size of a half solo cup. You probably could wait another week or two for that stuff if you prefer. Great job! Peppers can be tricky

Burpee has the entire state of Florida at the same growing zone which is way off.

Yes it is! It’s crazy how different north, central, and south Florida is. I’m not sure you can fully appreciate it unless you live here.
