After seeing all of the negative criticism this trilogy has gotten, I haven't changed my mind about how I feel about it. I really like it and I don't understand why everyone hates on it so much. These games are amazing because of the detail that is put in into the gameplay, the graphics, and most importantly, the story. After learning about all the mythology that has been put into the series, I realized how much effort was put into this and I love it. I consider these games to be one of the best Final Fantasy titles to be put out there. Although there are many people that disagree to the point where they would bash the game without truly seeing the beauty in all of it, I have to admit, the first game was really linear and broke a tradition that everyone likes, but Square Enix has realized this! They realized what they could've improved the most on and they tried improving in XIII-2. After realizing that it wasn't enough, they made it even better in Lightning Returns. This is an beautiful trilogy and an outstanding company. The passion these employees have at Square is reflected into their final products that entertain, tell stories, and teach lessons, even if they are just a fantasy. Thank you for reading if you've made it all the way down here. I hope my words have changed the minds of the many that dislike the series, and helped reenforce the opinions of the few that see the beauty in these wonderful games. Have a nice day.

Amazing the time and effort they put into the games, i'm impressed. They all have worked very hard and deserve the honor they receive. All the haters who want ff13 series to be gone and want the old traditional gameplay,etc, i just don't understand why they hate on this trilogy so much, i played all the final fantasies out there and this one plus ff10 had the most emotional impact on me, with the amazing music, scenery, characters, and everything else. There is bound to be change in developing of games, but that doesn't mean that it is for the worst, you just have to feel the new atmosphere of the game and take the time to appreciate it from all perspectives

I just wish the battle system in Lightning Returns was used all throughout the trilogy. The trigger buttons except for the Overclock on R2/RTrigger, can be used to switch characters while the bumpers switch Paradigms.

Great speech :) I couldn't agree with you more. I can see that you like mythology and ancient culture, I love it too! Very much! Just as you say change is something we can't avoid, but the old things in the past is also something for us to remember, those old things are something for us to search, to explore, to find and to learn. Like the old Final Fantasy before XIII they aren't bad they're masterpiece and they're the past that we need to remember because of the wonderful things the old FF world gave us. But it's something that had already pass by and we can only think of it like an old great friend who we used to be with. After that the new things comes for us to accept. What I'm trying to say is they accept change and yet they don't accept it, they want the past to be remade and yet they don't care about the past. For example, in FF they want FF7 and hate FFXIII, but in real life they use high technology but they abandoned beauty of the past like ancient culture (Greek, Egypt, etc) and extraordinary masterpiece like symphony, orchestra, famous composer like Mozart, Beethoven, Choplin, etc. People are what we called contradiction which is annoying, so it leads to criticism. From criticism they hate all kinds of thing from new things like the characters, the characters's parsonality, their background, the storyline because they hate change => they don't put enough amount into learning what the story is about :v so here is what I'm saying: The past is important to us but change is also essential to us, which makes them both a great importance to us!

Square, don't forget the roots of FF. Always replicate what works and innovate. Don't forget to put in open areas or customization (FF13). Have a clearer story board in place, look at how anime and manga are written and what makes them enticing. You really are on to something with FF:LR's combat. Don't waste that. Remember that story doesn't make the game it's the characters too. People don't think about Joel and Ellie's walk they remember the characters and the feelings they endured. Don't appeal to a market segment, this includes fan service. Gamers know what they want. Can't wait to play some LR's!

DarkSamuraiX1989 100% agree. I think they can be more familiar with anime since their culture loves it. One Piece has some great heartfelt elements that Last of Us also had (not many games do). Not sure why games now lack that endearing story element

No, trust me. It's not simply change. Even people who wanted to like it and gave it more than a chance have problems with it. For instance, I got introduced to the series with Final Fantasy IV and I like or love most of the games in the series especially VII, VIII, IX, and X but while there are things I like about Final Fantasy XIII I can't say I love the game.

I think it would be interesting for them to Release a FF7 Anthology pack for PS3/PS4. It would have 1. FF7 PC Ver.+Graphic Mods + Trophies ( I would say remake but we all know theyd sell it for $60 alone) 2. FF7: Dirge of Cerberus ( i know many didn't like it but i thought it was fine) 3. FF7: Crisis Core (One of my favorite FF) 4. FF7: Advent Children Complete 1080p Maby if they were finally doing a remake of 7,they would atleast release 2-4 .

I have an idea for an awesome FF. Involves spirit world, hardcore mode, new ideas for playable characters combing special abilities against certain enemies for extra damage etc. Weapon modification(s)/(materia was awesome), character builds, the list goes on...

I can imagine the conversation between the US PR branch of SquareEnix and the statured Japanese giant. I don't know if opening up the secrets to making the "magic" is ever a good idea. ***** 1. They make more money than Sony and Microsoft from gaming. 2. Sony struggled at the beginning of the PS3, The PSP and now the PS vita sales are low. + Sony's other sectors have been suffering for quite awhile (TVs, Phones, Computers etc.) due to heavy competition by Samsung, Apple, Google & Microsoft, yet they still move on. Nintendo has a shitload of money in the bank, they could be losing money for years and still be financially secure. They need to get there shit together but in no way are they dying.

Nintendo is one of the great giants in the videogame industry, BUT if you think they invented videogames OR that they haven't copied their competitors, then you have a few screws lose. The videogame industry is successful because of many companies. playstation has always delivered a unique experience with their systems and has more games on their systems as well. The problem with nintendo is not their 1st party software, it's that they have a really bad relationship with third parties going back to the N64. Even on the snes they controlled everything, making third parties bend over to put their games on nintendo's machines. Do some research.... and lastly I agree the WiiU is not a bad system, but nintendo will not get mass support for it regardless.

Honestly i enjoyed 13 for the story and characters. I may be in the minority but i greatly enjoyed final fantasy 13-2 for story, characters, music, world and combat. However 13-3 had a beatifuly designed world, music, combat, and characters: i thought the story was almost an abomination that tarnished the prior games. I understand their perspective but i couldnt play this game without utter cringe on some parts. The religion and even killing the god on the end. -_-

Also the entire idea of fighting their destiny and defeating it, is the opposite of most final fantasy games where heroes are chosen and destined to be the heroes of light and save this world. This game felt more like they became the darkness and abolished the light

For once it would be kind to compliment a company for trying their best to go out of their way to support their fan base by tweaking some minorities such as the style of fighting. Maybe they hadn't planned originally on these last two but at least they're filling in the gaps of the plot overall. Im sure it will make sense in the end if you all have it a chance. But, you won't.
