Very cool! I liked the Scotty section. How well does the fume extraction in there work? I'm not sure I want to be in such a confined space with solvents and grinding particles in the air!
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Good question. Each machine has its own extraction unit so I think it is pretty good. I've been on there when they are busy building clubs and it didn't seem too bad to me

Unique idea of Titleist Tour Truck.
@coreyvaillancourt6 жыл бұрын
Hey Neil, does the tour truck carry Scotty Cameron putters specific to certain players or just a wide variety for players to try? Thanks great video!
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
From what I saw it was specific putters for certain players. So I think you could say to the rep that you wanted an all black Newport 2 with a blue sight line etc and they would go away and make that up for you. Seriously impressive!
@coreyvaillancourt6 жыл бұрын

Awesome truck. hope when i turn pro i can go on this truck. Are the products available to amateurs as well or do they have to pay?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
The products themselves are all available to amateurs. I don't think i saw anything that you couldn't get from Titleist either from your local pro shop or through the custom offerings

Amazing layout... Titleist is as professional as it gets.
@nithin92756 жыл бұрын
Seriously good video! Wondering if there was any indication by the Titleist guys as to how often the players generally come in to re-grip/ make any other minor modifications? Also does the truck carry any launch monitor tech like trackman?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
i think it totally depends on the player. Some will get new wedges and grips very regularly, like once a month. Pretty sure they carry a few Trackmans
@banditbaker16756 жыл бұрын
Many thanks for sharing an insight into the Titleist Tour Truck, it`s a Golf Geeks wet dream! I can`t believe that you weren't wearing a Poachers Jacket, so that you could stuff the pockets with plenty of Bounty!!!!!

@kylepugh94376 жыл бұрын
Does the tour truck also do fittings when it’s traveling to golf clubs and pro shops or is there a separate truck for that? Besides there being titleist fitting centres?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Great question. Yes, the Truck is on tour 25 or so weeks a year and that leaves quite a bit of time for other events. It will be taken to some fitting events - sadly I don't know which ones!
@williamreid31746 жыл бұрын

@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын

Golf Monthly lol I’m a mid handicap and I wear pure touch
@siddy79106 жыл бұрын
Great video thank you. How many people work on the truck?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Two people can build clubs at the same time. Titleist also have a Scotty Cameron rep with them and I'd say at least one other person doing fittings and liaising with players etc
@eddiex726 жыл бұрын
Do they already have certain club heads with different loft and lie angles according to player, or will they make adjustments in the truck?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Great question - I think the answer is a bit of both. With the irons I'd say they would do it on the truck mostly but if a player has very specific requirements, they will bring it for him. I should have also said that they have a workshop at their offices in St Ives as well. They can make clubs up here before going out on Tour
@georgebarrow-stacey91556 жыл бұрын
Does scotty ever go to an event on the truck to work with players?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Ha - I think the players go to Scotty more than the other way around!

How often do tour players change shoes? Surely they dont just change shoes whenever a new one comes out. Also how often would they test driver shafts?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure they would change shoes regularly. It's a bit like clubs. When FJ have a new shoe out the will do whatever they can to get their players wearing them. As far as shafts go, that's far more sporadic. Rory McIlroy changed driver shaft earlier this year for the first time in seven years!
@golferforlife63386 жыл бұрын
Do they customize all clubs on the truck when one pro decides he needs a loft or shaft changed?

Yes, I think so

Great video. Why do they not take the truck yo every event? 25 seems like a small number
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Great question. There are so many events in Asia now on the European Tour so they physically can't. I also think there are some issues with access to some events

@peteraloisio35336 жыл бұрын
Hey Neil, fantastic to get a taste of how the others get around. It would go without saying that there must be computer system on board that has all the data for each of the potential players so their clubs can be fitted to them without having to hit loads of balls again. A "Beef" signed hat would stand out down at the local club in Sydney, Australia. :)
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Peter! Yes, they will keep all the data on board. I thin k process is that, if you are getting a new driver they start by making up a new one in exactly the same spec with the same shaft. If the numbers aren't looking as good as they could, they will then look at shafts, weights etc

Do they build tour golf clubs on the truck
@zacbird25866 жыл бұрын
36 balls per pro per week almost doesn't seem like enough when they change balls after every birdie as some do. What happens if they are running low going into the weekend after pro ams and practice rounds
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
I'm sure the will be able to get some more in that scenario. I should have mentioned that Titleist also carry a further 600 dozen Pro V1s under the cabin as they supply all the practice ranges on the European Tour

@trevorbeith90506 жыл бұрын
Do they carry specific clubs for specific players
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are some that need to be build in the workshop in St Ives before they leave for Tour. I think it depends more on the spec than the player but i might be wrong
@pittgolfer13796 жыл бұрын
Does titleist have a training program for the fitters working in the truck?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Yes, their fitters are really well versed in what the product does and how to get the most out of it during the fitting. I would expect that to be the same with all the major manufacturers given how important fitting is - both on Tour and for amateur golfers
@harithyaccob70556 жыл бұрын

Is there any limit to the amount of stuff a player can take?
@GolfMonthly6 жыл бұрын
Yes I think so. It can get a bot out of hand with players giving stuff to all their friends etc. Not sure how it works though
