I was about 8 when I started my pokemon collection and straight away I it felt like something that would be huge, and from a young age I always liked saving things, keeping them tidy and neat and it was the same for pokemon. I had that gut feeling. I kept them safe in a folder for years. I was the oldest out of all my cousins. When I was 17 and my 10 year old and 8 year old cousins were getting into pokemon and kept begging me for my cards, the oldest even begged for my 1st edition charizard. I held off for a long time but family members kept saying they were just bits of card I didn't touch, and I ended up being worn down and gave them almost my entire collection (for free as its family ) 2 years later they never talked about pokemon and asked about the cards to find out my aunt chucked them all away. It taught me a huge lesson not to feel pressured even when it comes to family.
