@@TVVOSTEP I believe he sold one cars to Logan Paul or the other Paul guy.. anywho he said he’s only selling it because of his excitement for the cards and I’m pretty sure he said he would never sell his entire collection. He may have it up for sale but he priced it so no one would really buy it, it would bring more attention to him and other things. Same thing he did with pawn stars, went on the show with his cards and never had the intention of selling them

He is aware of the danger of trends and how collectables have swings in value. He is right say now is a big upswing because I don't think its sustainable. He also understand if more beckett 10s appear it drops the value of his charizards. That's why he wants em all. If that unknown one got sold for 200k or some low balled amount he would be going mental 😅

Current calculated yearly salary of the podcast: $43,419.86. If the podcast was someone working a 40 hour week every week it would be making $20.87 per hour. I was about 8 when I started my pokemon collection and straight away I it felt like something that would be huge, and from a young age I always liked saving things, keeping them tidy and neat and it was the same for pokemon. I had that gut feeling. I kept them safe in a folder for years. I was the oldest out of all my cousins. When I was 17 and my 10 year old and 8 year old cousins were getting into pokemon and kept begging me for my cards, the oldest even begged for my 1st edition charizard. I held off for a long time but family members kept saying they were just bits of card I didn't touch, and I ended up being worn down and gave them almost my entire collection (for free as its family ) 2 years later they never talked about pokemon and asked about the cards to find out my aunt chucked them all away. It taught me a huge lesson not to feel pressured even when it comes to family.

Just sent this episode to my daughter she was cleaning out her childhood bedroom in my house after collage and a few years teaching English in Vietnam . she found her Pokemon box with some unopened starter American and Japanese packs sold a few of them for around 5k .... but going to tell her hold the other packs a few month and watch the market.

Graham you should of offered Gary $400k for the PSA 10 1st Ed. Shadowless Charizard as a serious offer. Even if its overvalued having the absolute holy grail and piece of Pokemon history in your collection is priceless

Awesome episode!! It's great that card collecting has become so popular again..even with soo much going on in the world. Collected Pokemon cards back in 1999 and 2000...but never played the game. Got into Yugioh in like 2004...and has been a great hobby ever since...no matter the ups and downs in life and in the game..I will always enjoy playing and collecting..

Really interesting that I have seen him before and was of the impression he was a pokemon fiend who just love the cards but when he explained how he sold to Logan and went on pawn star his basically the reason this card are worth this much his a very cleaver businessman and when he says why he loves them so much and he can’t say I’d like to think it’s becoz it reminds him of a simpler time when his kids where small great pod cast

Still one of my favorite episodes from the podcast. I’m surprised we haven’t seen Pokémon NFTs. Seems like a slam dunk.

Just need Nintendo on board but they're typically slow on the technology uptake. Maybe if NFT games like gods unchained (for trading cards) or axie infinity (for a pokemon video game comparison) are successful they will get into it. I'm sure it will happen eventually, eventually all video games will not only contain NFTs but the digital copy of the game will also be an NFT.
