The Genius Design of The Pentagon. The Pentagon has been one of the most secure buildings on Earth for many decades, home to some of the most classified documents in the history of the United States. But how do they manage to keep everything so safe?
Prior to the construction of the Pentagon, the United States military had been growing dramatically due to World War I, and even after it ended, it just didn’t stop growing. So instead of continuing to build smaller military office spaces, it was decided that they should have a place to consolidate everything, and thus the Pentagon was crafted.
The Pentagon was made in the shape of a pentagon originally because of the geographical region they originally were using; however, even after moving, they kept it in that shape due to Franklin D. Roosevelt’s fondness for it and because of the convenience of travel and also the symbolic meaning that had been placed on it. The building was completed in an incredibly fast 16 months because of the ongoing World War II and the need for the space.
In the '90s, an asbestos outbreak that resulted in renovations, followed by the 9/11 terrorist attacks, resulted in Project Phoenix beginning-a project to rebuild and reinforce the remainder of the building but also to focus on securing the surrounding area in which the building was most vulnerable. These changes made the Pentagon into the near impenetrable fortress it is in the modern day.

Security cameras are being put on key places, like the entrance checkpoint etc. You are not putting cameras to cover every little bit of a wall of the building. Especially if you have windows high up and surrounding fences. It's not practical. But you are too illogical to understand that, better to believe in your r*tarded conspiracy theories lol

@@murphychris9811classic conspiracy theorist who doesn’t know what they’re talking abt 🙄. Why are there so many of you in these comments. It’s pretty easy to understand why it wasn’t a missile but a plane. Look online. The short answer is the plane was flying sideways so the wings were crashed on the ground, which is why we don’t get a big plane damage being done. Plus the building is extremely sturdy, considering it’s home to the military operations of the USA

It's an amazing place. I was invited by the joint chief of Staff for the Air Force and went to his office as well as to other off limits areas. It was amazing. As tragic as 9/11 was, it showed how stupid they were attacking that building. Even if they had hit all 5 sides of that building, the command center would still be operational. But I'll always remember that it's the only place in the entire military that you don't salute when outside in the center area.
@thestateofalaska
@thestateofalaska 14 күн бұрын
there are a lot of non salute areas. I’ve never seen a base that didn’t have at least a few- typically operational areas like flight lines where saluting every officer that walks by would just get in the way of work

@ddc163264 14 күн бұрын
@@thestateofalaska Yes, of course that's true, I wasn't talking about "operational areas. We never saluted on the flight light unless it was to welcome an officer. We hardly ever saluted in the hangar either when working (too messy). But this (at the time anyway) was the only place where in full uniform (most were either standard or dress), you both didn't salute and also didn't need to wear a hat outdoors. That was nice.
