To be quite honest, air conditioning is a luxury and not a necessity unless you're elderly and have breathing issues of any kind. Prison is not meant to be enjoyable.

Prisoners dying of heat exhaustion in the states is a literal epidemic. It is necessary if you are living among 100s of others in sweltering heat. Imagine being stuck in a gym with 300 other people its nearly 100 degress outside. They may not need to be enjoyable, but they should be safe and clean. Check out that story of that poor man eaten alive by bugs in his cell. People need to pay more attention to the state of prisons not less.

@colleenmclean2391 Our homeless people have no air-conditioning, and they're not in prison. However, so long as the prisoners have fans and ice, that is all that is actually required. I bet if they didn't like it, they'd stop doing criminal acts and going back time and time again. It's not, and never will be a 5 star hotel. Don't do the things that put you there and you'll never have to worry about it. Problem solved.

My visiting or not visiting someone in prison wouldn't even compare, as they're not in a high security prison. Me visiting someone in prison also has nothing to do with things that happen in every day life in that of said prison, that God forbid, put entitled people in a less fortunate predicament other than what they're used to. They now know how the homeless feel except the homeless aren't criminals, don't get the luxuries and or food the prisoners do, and didn't swindle millions of dollars to foot their lavish lifestyle.

It's essential to acknowledge and appreciate their current circumstances. They should be grateful for not being incarcerated in a foreign prison. It's worth mentioning that their current living conditions are much better than those of many other prisons, specifically the ones in Thailand. The inhumane living conditions in Thai prisons, including overcrowding, cramped spaces, and a lack of medical resources, cause diseases and infections to spread rapidly among inmates.

I was widowed at 20 with two toddlers and I had no time to complain and feel sorry for myself. I had to be strong for my children even though I was struggling working two jobs and taking care of my responsibilities, I never complained or blamed someone else for what I've been through. Martha Stewart went to jail and didn't wait for her appeal to get it over with. She didn't complain and she came out with grace. I'm sorry that the AC doesn't work. Every prison should have AC but they are not the only ones suffering. Their kids complaining on TV isn't helping them. It's making people think they want to be treated better than other people.
