Going from citizenship based taxation to resident would be huge, expat entrepreneurs wouldn't have to give up a powerfull passport.

What's the best way to register and vote?

That was a great question three months ago. Now you can try to use an emergency ballot procedure if your US voting state allows it.

1:22:19 the default is double taxation.

Sadly, that's not true. Foreign income raises your tax bracket for your American capital gains. You get double taxed by both countries because the foreign income counts against your American investment, where the foreign country taxes your foreign income and US government taxes your American investment as if you had American income.

We need both. Double taxation kicks in at many other income streams other than salary. And fwiw, that 108k FEIE is only double of minimum wage in Switzerland. If the 108k was normalized from US minimum wage to Swiss minimum wage, the FEIE (in Switzerland) would be around 700k USD. So wage salary is double taxed, stock appreciation is double taxed with wealth tax in Switzerland, capital gains in US taxing in essence the same gains twice. It goes on. RBT is the right solution, and in the meantime administration regulatory fixes on double taxation is a good path.
