This is great. I was initially skeptical about Trumps announcement, but this podcast was a breath of fresh air and gave me hope that there is actual progress ahead. Thanks for all your continued efforts on this issue.

This is huge. Totally agree this is not a partisan issue. I have watched this channel for quite a time, and I can say that the efforts of this group to help US citizens abroad are genuine. They do it because they care - and have experienced first hand the terrible injustice of CBT. Its a moral issue. It should unite Americans abroad, not divide us. I would have loved to see Democrats Abroad to seriously take up this issue (and they still may). But one has to acknowledge that so far Republicans Overseas have achieved a major step to move the issue forward, giving us expats - for the first time - a realistic chance to end the injustice of CBT . As to the "argument", that this is a political ploy to convince Democrats abroad to vote Trump in this election, think again: Most US citizens abroad have already voted. If you want your mail-in ballot from abroad to be counted, you typically must send it off by postal (snail) mail one month ahead of the election. This deadline is way behind us.

Just deem everything as disposed on the date of the expatriation, grab the 23.8%, get rid of the covered expatriate and move on

Do away with the personal income tax. That is not what Trump is talking about is it?
