Jal Mahal is a palace in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city, the capital of the state of Rajasthan, India. The palace was originally constructed in 1699; the building and the lake around it were later renovated and enlarged in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Amber
The Jal Mahal Palace is an architectural showcase of the Rajput style of architecture (common in Rajasthan) on a grand scale, from Mughal architecture. The building has a picturesque view of Man Sagar Lake, but owing to its seclusion from land is equally the focus of a viewpoint from the Man Sagar Dam on the eastern side of the lake in front of the backdrop of the surrounding Nahargarh ("tiger-abode") hills.
Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation took matters into its hands in the year 2004 and decided to try and restore the monument to its original glory. They signed an agreement with Jal Mahal Resorts, granting it a 99-year lease to develop 100 acres along the Man Sagar Lake (in the middle of which Jal Mahal stands) and the palace.[6] The 99-year lease was given out to a business tycoon, Navratan Kothari Chairman of KGK Group. For the past 9 years, he has worked on the cleaning of the lake and restoration of the Palace. Now there are many inhabitants of the area and it has created a great job opportunity for the people of Jaipur and Rajasthan.
he Sun Temple Jaipur is a small Hindu temple that lies high above Jaipur and provides wonderful panoramic views over the city.
The route to the temple bifurcates at the hill-top. One part of the path descends towards Galta Temples, while the other one leading to the Sun temple takes a right turn.

THANK YOU OTA EXPERT for uploading this wonderful video of the Jal Mahal.......I have been to Jaipur/Amber Fort many times and could only view the Jal Mahal from the main road.....not priviledged to visit it because of the renovations and not being open to public. I never knew the gardens and corridors were so spaces and airy particularly with the interior white walls with exquisite paintings and highlights in liquid gold or gold foils.
