Delta Airlines has a travel protection plan that helps reimburse some medical expenses. Delta paid $50,000 dollars for covered emergency expenses, emergency transportation and 24 hour emergency assistance. Delta does not make you pay a refund if your flight is interrupted for needing to return home early to treat sickness or an injury. Delta will sometimes even reimburse other expenses for travelers like hotels, meals and ground transportation. It isnt the airline at fault, it is either the pilot or maintenance.

I may have a theory on what's going on here. Someone had the pressurization system set to Manual instead of Auto. When it's on Manual, a pilot has to do it by hand while Auto is computerized. 10,000ft is the maximum level for normal air pressure so had the plane gone higher, it could've ended up like Helios Flight 522. What also gets me is that you can hear the cabin pressure warning blaring at 0:28.

Based on what I read below, I'm unclear on how this happened? Was it a Delta maintenance issue? Was it a Boeing issue of Boeings software not alerting the pilot in advance? Was it a pilot oversight? I'm genuinely confused. "While the pilot sets the desired cabin pressure during preflight checks, the actual process of pressurizing the cabin is primarily controlled by an automated system that regulates the outflow valve, meaning the aircraft's computer system is primarily responsible for maintaining cabin pressure throughout the flight, with the pilot only needing to intervene in case of a malfunction."
