I almost choked to death and when my sight, hearing, pain and ability to move left me I was floating in warm complete blackness. I wasn't afraid, I wasn't sad or regretful, I was so comfortable I didn't mind at all. Then my husband, a construction worker, who had heard me fall, Heimliched me back into my body and let all the pain and life back in. If you want to survive choking keep a construction worker around. I was so squeezed it was several weeks before I could draw a good breath. It has changed my life so much for the better. I know now I had spent a lot of my life uselessly worrying about being good so I wouldn't go to Hell, or if people liked me, or my housework was done. Now I've forgotten that and concentrate on the things I like. I cook, I read, I see my friends, I make bead jewelry, I look at maps and dream.

(Crazy story) my grandpa is 82 now and back in his twenties he went to the beach with 5 of his friends. Surprisingly, out of the 5 of them he was the only one who knew how to swim. One of his friends went in the water still and the current pulled him far out like really far. Then the current pulled 3 other girls that they didn’t know out. Since my grandpa was the only one who knew how to swim he tried saving all of them by swimming really far out. The girl were screaming for help and he tried helping his friend but every time he grabbed on to his friend or one of the girls the current was tough and they couldn’t hold on. Eventually my grandpas friend and all 3 girls drowned leaving my grandpa really far away from the beach and he thought he would die. He treaded water eventually luckily floating back to sea. He was the only survivor out of 5 of them. I am so glad he knew how to swim and made his way back to shore. If he died with them I would have not been here today. He is alive today and doing well at 82!
