You can clearly see all the work she has done on herself and also the respect and confidence she has on her coaches. It makes me so sad that people criticized her so bad at Tokyo without a bit of empathy, you can tell how much it all affected her. It definitely sounds like she not only "took one for the team" when stepping away from the competition in Tokyo but also frankly "took one for many Olympic athletes" who were feeling the same kinds of mental issues which Simone had during that time. It was just she who chose to talk about it in a public forum. Good on her for making things better for so many others.

Um…. She is the best. Why wouldn’t team USA send their best. In what universe is that “not fair.” These other gymnasts live in the era of Simone. It’s is what it is. She is hands down the best gymnast in the history of the sport. Let’s enjoy the show while we still can.
