Michael Cudlitz (TWD, Clarice) joins me this week to talk, in part, about his growth in this industry from set construction on 90210, to acting in major serieses like Band of Brothers and The Walking Dead, and eventually leading to directing opportunities along the way. Michael opens up on the fragility of life and the importance of setting goals you can achieve while still here. Agreed. I was wondering if anyone was going to talk about him being on Clarice. His character, Paul Krendler, is supposed to be manipulative jerk. Just wondering what the writiers and Michael are going to do with the role.

I was a faithful viewer for years. It was appointment TV for me. But the simultaneous killing of Abraham and Glenn was the beginning of the end of my enjoyment of the Show.

Seasons 9 and 10 were really good and make up for 7 and 8.

I felt the same way i stopped watching for 2 years then i watched it from the beginning again when i reached the show of Abraham and Glenn death it affected just like the first time but this time i pushed on thru and watched till season ten Abraham took it for the team he was a hero so dont be sad....

I feel the exact same way. I have read all the comics so I knew both Abraham and Glenn’s deaths were coming but then Abrahams comic death was given to Denise so I thought, “Okay so they’ll keep Abraham around for All Out War.” Then boom they kill off both Glenn and Abraham in one fowl swoop. Both reducing the effect of Glenn’s death and making the fact that they skipped Abraham’s death a farce. And don’t even get me started on the takeout Glenn death from the previous season. The final nail in the coffin for me was Carl’s death. Carl is the central character of both the show and comic. All of this is for him. That’s Rick’s entire philosophy and they throw it away.

The first thing I saw Michael on was an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Ironically he played a Zombie who loved Walker Texas Ranger and asked that the shows be taped while he was in the ground.

Outstanding performances. My personal favorite was his portrayal of Staff Sergeant Denver "Bull" Randleman in Band of Brothers. Just now finding this great channel, liked and subscribed.

I hate the fake out cliff hanger in the season finale, one, it could have been one of the single best episodes of the series with some real resolution, but mainly, you don’t actually get to mourn Abe in the premier, because Glenn dies minutes later. Should have had the entire offseason of devastation, instead you get a cheap cliffhanger. Major gaff that hurt the whole product.

If there was five things about the walking dead that kept me coming back to the show every week Cudlitz was one of them, such a bummer when they killed him on the series.

Michael Cudlitz says at the end that beloved characters have to die so that the audience can fall in love with new characters. The biggest issue for me with TWD was that the writer never could replace characters like Glenn, Abraham, Rick, Jesus. And after the death of Carl you kinda lost faith in the show. There was no hope left that your favorite characters would get their happy ending. I think that's why many fans stopped watching the show around seasons 7 to 9.

There is no happy ending on that show until you have a cure. Can you imagine living in a world where if you just die you are going to come back. People will be killing others who get a sniffle. If I get a cold now I almost want to keep it quiet because people are gonna yell at me that I have Covid. I can't imagine TWD world and how to navigate in it.

@@vanmoody I know that there won't be a cure for TWD. They planned many spin off shows to milk more money of that franchise. But as a fan I expect from any show that the character will get a satisfying ending. I am fine with an ending where all of them have to still fight with walkers and evil people. But when you lose many of your favorite characters, you stop watching the show because you don't want to see the rest of the beloved characters die as well. And the new characters won't mean anything to you.

I mean, it felt like a chore to keep up with for a few seasons beforehand, but I stopped watching right after Rick said the words "Save him," regarding Negan. Yet another big climactic battle they'd been building to turned out to be _nothing._ Another nonsensical subversion of expectations, another display of Negan's ridiculous plot armor, and I just had zero fucks left to give about what happened to these characters next.

alpha man ABRAHAM is a leader in his own right and should have gotten his own spin-off series along with ROSITA, EUGENE and GLENN, MAGGIE and TARA based in DC, which would have set-up crossovers with the sister show.

Its always sad to see such an amazing show crash and burn so badly, especially when you've been a massive fan. I always felt that the whole Saviour storyline with Negan (a cheesy second rate "Grease" reject) marked the end of the comic being any good for me, the whole thing just ran out of steam , and sadly it was the same with the TV show (for different reasons). Also: Michael is way hotter in real life imo.

I’m glad I never got into this show and GAME OF THRONES. I’m more of a fan of episodic TV that gets wrapped up in an hour. I’m proud that I had the foresight to quit LOST after the 4th episode figuring it would just jerk me around. I was right. Only 2 shows kept me captivated was BATTLESTAR GALACTICA (which needed to end) an BREAKING BAD (a job well done). Still excruciating waiting so long between seasons. So to hell with serialized soap opera shows.
