100% he's an amazing actor. I read where fans said that he mentioned in an interview how at some point he had to put out a lot of work due to financial situation. That coincides with what he said here about his second marriage, when his films weren't great (no big or meaty roles). Then it was just guest TV spots. IDK why the studios didn't scoop him up for better roles. He looks amazing for his age too.

From what he said here about his 2nd marriage I'm thinking it was the reason he was forced to do those 90s films. He should've gotten a big role here and there and he's so talented. It would surprise me to hear he turned down good work to do those not great films and only guest spots. People would LOVE to see him in one or two of those Harrison Ford type films.

Love Chris Sarandon. One movie of his that, in my opinion, is very underrated is a film called "Lipstick"... his performance is great in that film. He was a great villain in that one. "The Sentinel" is another underrated and great film.

This was a fantastic interview! Chris is incredible in his films, even the low budget films like The Resurrected. He played a very creepy Joseph Curwen in that H.P. Lovecraft film. His performance is fun to watch. I had the pleasure of meeting him at a convention and he was extremely affable. We spoke briefly about that character and Fright Night. Yes, he does look and sound amazing for being 80!

I know everyone always thinks of Fright Night, Princess Bride and Nightmare Before Christmas when they think of Chris Sarandon, but my favorite role of his was when he guest starred on Star Trek Deep Space Nine. He played sort of a con man version of Whoopi Goldberg's Guinan character, same species but instead of helping he was 'listening' to rip people off. Just delightful, kind of like Prince Humperdinck but not as malevolent.

This was delightful! I didn't even realize Chris was Jack, I love his performance! I would have asked if he got to hang out with Danny Elfman, and how that was. Chris was fantastic as the voice of Kurotowa in Nausicaa too! Now I need to look up Fright Night, you two really sold his performance. Thank you both!

Hi Michael, great episode with an awesome actor. When i saw The Nightmare Before Christmas i waited for the credits to know who made the voice of Jack Skellington and was the first time that heard about Chris Sarandon. Right away i look for him on the internet and go to my local video club to rent movies in which he performed. And you're right: he played bad guys but he's so likely. Fright Night is my favourite by far.

Thoroughly enjoyed this episode, Chris has a very easy to listen to voice and his tales are engaging. It’s also nice to be able to relate to places and actors such as Sean Connery and Hadden Hall which was also used for ‘Jane Eyre’ and ‘Pride and Prejudice’. On another note I’m glad you went to visit Blanche she sounds to be a lovely lady and obviously adores you. Another excellent episode - so good I watched it twice 😀. Chris is so interesting and easy to listen to, and definitely does not look 80. I really appreciated the insight into his marriages, something I'm going through at the minute, so hearing him say "Out of crisis comes understanding", and talk about how you have go through hard times in order to learn something about yourself, and that it can end up being for the best, really rang true for me. I have to confess I haven't watched Fright Night, I'm a scaredy cat and can't watch anything scary on my own, and I have never had anyone to watch scary stuff with 😂 I have watched The Nightmare Before Christmas plenty of times though, and it was a joy to hear Chris jump into "Jack". I look forward to his upcoming podcast, and I hope we get to read his memoir one day. Thanks Chris. ❤ Also...
