Quite a return to form -- This sounds like their mid-2000s stuff. And that is good -- real good. The production, and mix, even on this YT resolution sounds great. I love the 'space' between the instruments so you can hear everybody clearly, especially the bell tones feel so warm and ringing, and the lead guitar while not totally out front still comes in with authority. That piano, tho.

A place where days seems a little lighter A place each color just catch the eye There is no need to choose a side Where the horizon seems so much brighter And though the bitter end might find you Go tell you saw that mighty cloud go You saw the valley down below You saw the blinding ice and snow There's a million nameless stars above And the wind keep whispering words of love See a ray of light in the southern skies Can we stand up to the high and mighty? We found the grеatest love in the microscopic picturеs The addictions, resurrections from the wreckage The complexity is endless And as we monitor the million years of evolution The revolutions, a world once frozen A world once frozen, blossom fusion

love the use of soundscapes and chords, especially at 4:24 , but it also could have been so much more if there was sth else than spacey, major sounding prog rock before, sth more mellow, sad or heavy would have worked super well in contrast

Jonas Lindbergh cites Roine and TFK as one of his major influences. (And mentions Space Revolver as a favorite album!) The preview cuts from his new album (“Miles From Nowhere”) are FANTASTIC - the album drops tomorrow. Roine provided a solo on the grand finale song, and Roine asked him to play bass on a couple of tracks. Lindbergh is incredibly talented, plays bass, keyboards, and guitars. There are 3 videos from Lindbergh’s album on KZbin right now, go search for them! As a fan of TFK, Spock’s Beard, Transatlantic, etc., I haven’t been as excited about a “new” artist in a long time.

@MetalheadNation2 жыл бұрын
@@robertrousseau8762 Jonas isn’t gone, he just doesn’t feature fully on the album. He and Michael split bass duties across the album, except for this song, which is played with Jonas Lindberg. Jonas (at least at the moment) is still a member of the band, but partially due to his obligations with Steve Hackett, he cannot tour with TFK for their announced dates, thus Michael’s reintegration to the band is likely (partially) due to this. I love having two (technically three) bass players on this album, all with different styles! This will be my album of the year! Hope this comment helped! 😁
@robertrousseau87622 жыл бұрын
Ok cause I google it and it says that Jonas is not in the band anymore
@MetalheadNation2 жыл бұрын
@@robertrousseau8762 Yeah it was very confusing, but Roine, Jonas, and Michael received a ton of questions about it in the Facebook group for TFK, so they clarified some of the questions about it, which is how I got the info. Apparently, according to the Sony Japan website, their are even some guest musicians on this album that I’ve found no other info on, including original percussionist Hasse Brunisson! Hopefully that is true, and I bet much of the questions we still have will be clarified once the physical copies come out and we can see the song credits! 😁
@newstuff11072 жыл бұрын
Very good song, I might buy the album. I am a big fan of Transatlantic also. The video though is still a bit cheesy, with planets and stars… I know you need to keep the costs of production low, but planets are painful to watch in prog rock videos. What about images of a chrome ball reflecting the sea and ground and eagles flying unnaturally ?
@TheMarty1082 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry but seriously, dude… If the budget for the video is more important than the music itself go check out some mainstream artist instead. How gives a flying hoot if the planets look cheesy? The Flower Kings always delivers the goods as these guys are the crème de la crème when it comes to writing and performing some of the most intricate and well written progressive rock this side Close To The Edge.

Totally understand, art is very subjective, but to the people that this music connects with, it is very special. For me, I enjoy the duel (well actually triple) vocalists in this song and the way they split it, each vocalists tone and phrasing, the guitar tone, the synth underlying it all, and the chord progressions that resonate with me, as well as the callback (reprise) to an earlier song in the album (which itself reprises a song of their from all the way back in 1999! I definitely understand how some may not find it interesting, but to me, this continues to solidify them as my favorite band of all time 😁

I have the exact same feelings with their music since Desolation Rose... it's like they've lost their verve and creativity. and yet the albums are still highly regarded as modern progressive rock masterpieces... so I guess that it's just an impression of mine. still, I prefer old-era TFK... with really long suites and Tomas Bodin on keyboards. the man was a genius and formed a godly songwriting-pair along with Roine. now it just seems they're repeating themselves with not that much conviction...
