there actually are laws that allow the government stop a piece from being published . in fact, one of these laws, which illegalized the publishing if the names of intelligence agents after the death of (im pretty sure) richard welch, led to the death of an entire genre of magazines about spying, namely the magazine counterspy and then encounter (at least, after the cia stopped funding encounter). you cannot publish the names of intelligence agents, nor can you publish classified information (though mostly they only go after things from the upper levels of classification ratings, and they usually only go after stuff that isnt embarrassing to admit is true and classified, when its embarrasing theyre probably more likely to deny and make any such claim sound ridiculous and stupid) .

He seems pretty naive to claim news reporting is truthful because government wouldn't tamper with our 1st amendment rights. To start off with an untruth is an odd way to get people to believe his site is about truth and hope to gain subscribers. He is now retired. But we and fellow reporters and editors have mourned the loss of personnel in the newsroom. As Sean so clearly mentioned Copy Editors in newsrooms have shrunk to the point where a lot gets lost. I could go on with examples about the loss of great journalism, but it has changed substantially. Thank you for your show which I always find interesting.
