Super bangles..respect those people for their hard working

Firozabad city is situated merely hour away from Agra city famous for taj mahal , many tourists come to agra but miss the city of glass firozabaad , this city is losing its heritage due to introduction of chinese materials which are supposedly cheaper and is in grave need of conservation . So, if you are visiting Agra, please consider visiting firozabad too. The roads are very well kept and it's easy to get there . Besides bangles, you can get other items of glass such lights , chandelier, glassware for kitchen etc. Do visit .

I have a deep respect for these bangles now. I have a problem with the fact that the are so very inexpensive. After watching all the hard work that goes into them and to hear them say they go from $1.00 for 12 bangles!, that seriously breaks my heart! Those people deserve so much more! And I can’t wait to go to the swap meet this weekend and Respectfully purchase me some bangles!!!

i myself have bangles but made of metal and with i think clay and stones and glaspieces as decoration, was a gift when my grandmother came back from her indiantravel.
@AB.9265 ай бұрын
That’s made of laquer and not clay. It’s very fascinating actually how it’s made. They add color to laquer and melt it to then create these bangles with mirrors

I think the firozabad artisans of 3:44 glass bangles are paid the minimum wage in India which is very less. I have read in my Hindi textbook that they are trapped in the vicious cycle of politics and society. This continues from generation by generation. The problem is we cannot provide an alternative by using bangles making machine or AI otherwise these people will lose their job.

This is a very small workshop. Bangles are made in even larger quantities in industrial set up. Because in india at least 80% women ware bangles if not daily then occasionally. It's a cultural thing evolved into fashion statement.

They make a lovely product but it’s sad to see how every step of this puts workers’ safety at risk. Pulling a cart, sweeping in sandals, everything about that kiln room… the injuries people would get would be horrendous.
