@@SylvesterOziomek "Besides the only reason PPE is mandatory is insurance" Corrected: The only reason PPE is mandatory is because of insurance.. because accidents without PPE create expensive injuries. PPE saves money and prevents injuries. Insurance companies only care about saving money.
@SylvesterOziomek10 ай бұрын
@@bcjb720 How is that corrected? Insurance companies cover their ass so they require PPE and other H&S rules to lower risk of paying insurance so companies comply whether they like it or not. PPE and rest of H&S cost time and money and saves money only when accident happen and all the rules where followed. Big downside of H&S rules is that workers are flooded with so many rules that they no longer have to think. PPE kills awareness. Worker with all the PPE and H&S is more like robot than human. Does nothing but executing instructions.

I feel so much empathy and respect for the workers in these videos. Chrome plating rims in open vats of acids and high voltage plating tanks, wearing sandals in badly ventilated areas. Running a forging press without any thermal protection, in sandals, and at a blinding pace no less. The guys are really putting in hard, dangerous work for a wage we'd be insulted by. Because they don't have the huge social safety nets of unemployment benefits, workers compensation or welfare that we take for granted. Grandma and Grampa don't have retirement benefits or pensions. Foot melted off from an acid accident in the chrome plating line? No workers compensation benefits, you better hope there's a job opening on the line that doesn't require both feet or your family goes hungry. We have it so good, and STILL think we've got it so bad because people just can't understand how lucky we were to be born in western nations. So much respect to these guys in these videos, so much.

Sem falar é claro, da qualidade do homem que faz os furos, sem marcações, sem nada, só na confiança. Nota 10

I liked the smelter that was just a hole in the floor, how is that allowed anywhere! The pollution from all the chemicals and water just washed into rivers etc. is staggering. And we have schemes like ulez, because we are saving the planet....

Amazing how many workers are wearing flip flops or sandels. 29:15 No masks or respirators while painting those gas tanks.

These workers rock pray for their safety with all of those toxic chemicals around not to mention the heavy machinery. One misstep and there goes a hand. Awesome video thanks for sharing.

The chemicals used for nickel plating aren't really that overly toxic. Obviously you don't want to bathe in the stuff, but it likely isn't hurting them much.
@umbrellacorp8573 Жыл бұрын
I was thinking that same thing. When I saw the guy had gloves on ,but he didn't bother to wear at least shoes just flip flops 🤯. Nickel poisoning isn't a way I would want to go or acid baths ☠

I'm really surprised to see the workers were wearing gloves on their hands even though they were only wearing sandals on their feet.. I guess Hand protection is paramount where eye and foot protection are right out the window.

The worst part is that they were probably performing the chrome plating process, which emits toxic gases, and the detail is that they were doing it without masks in the root way.
