I have one request and that is that you don't waste food by throwing it out after taking just one bite and instead cut off a piece from where you took the bite and offer it to someone who doesn't have food, it'll make that person's day and you wouldn't lose a thing.

6:31 Chana is a smaller variety of chickpea, whereas dal/daal is called lentils in English. That aside, great video, and I really love Nikhil's sense of humour and style of presentation!
@rajuaditya19142 жыл бұрын
Nope, it's still chana dal, dal meaning lentil.
@Blacksaber542 жыл бұрын
Let’s clear this confusion with the meaning of Dal. Dal is a generic term for dry legumes known as pulses. Typically dal is the source of protein in an Indian vegetarian meal. Lentils are a specific type of pulse, it’s masoor dal. Regular dal recipe is a soup made up of Toor dal aka Pigeon Peas which is most commonly used across Indian subcontinent but not necessarily, and it might be mixed with different dals as well varying by the region, like pulses of lentils, mung beans, chick peas, kidney beans etc. and this soup is tempered in different spices like mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, and masalas (spice powder mixtures/seasonings) depending on the region/household/secret masala recipes. You can literally have millions of different types of Dal recipes in India, and I’m not exaggerating, there’s just insane amount of permutation, combination in the ingredients and cooking methods that alter the taste. Hence, no dish will taste the same in two different Indian restaurants. ✌️🤙
@NexSicarius2 жыл бұрын
@@rajuaditya1914 Incorrect. Chana is a type of chickpea and dal is lentil soup. Chickpeas are not lentils. Chana dal is a combination of the two, that does not mean that they are the same thing. The chana in Subway is definitely a type of chickpea and has nothing to do with dal.

I always find it amusing how global fast food companies that started in NA, have amazing global menu's EXCEPT in NA where they started. I wish they would bring some of this menu back home, the NA fast food menu tends to be quite boring like I can't believe how many veggie options Subway India has meanwhile they are sooooo unhealthy here in NA, only 1 veggie option? COME ON how hard would it be to incorporate some of these ingredients over here? ;p

Well it's probably due to the number of vegetarians here. Even the Non vegetarians, most of them don't eat meat daily. It would be like 2 days of meat per a week. Also the vegetarian food in India tends to be on par with Non veg, so they kinda use them in fast food Ig. So we have many veg options.

There used to be this "Harissa sauce" in India that was available for a limited period of time, got discontinued probably coz nobody seemed to even know about it. in the US, subway is a place you kinda go as a last resort for sandwiches. In India, those sandwiches all look worthy of trying. They have tikka masala, kebabs and lamb

I was surprised when I went to Australia for the first time in Feb 2015 and decided to try Subway at Melbourne Airport only to find peas, carrots, mushrooms and guacamole! I am from Muscat, Oman and here we didn't have roca leaves, mushroom, avocado, sun dried tomatoes, spinach and other cheese options (we only had the regular chedder and white american cheese slices) until 3 years ago.

Joe Favella is the 🐐 and deserves a raise. He is to Food Insider what Brad Leone is to Bon Appetit. If Joe goes, I go lol. Also, the dude who does the India portion is a great pick too. Entertaining, funny and cool as hell. Solid duo.

*A HUMBLE REQUEST TO THE TEAM* I like everything about these food comparison video but to *Joe i would like to ask you that please don't throw your food just like that in most of the videos you take one bite and rest of item you throw in the garbage bin* so instead of taking bite directly you can cut a bite size pieces with knife and try that..and rest of the sandwich or any else you can repack it and give to someone hungry and homeless..... remember that there are many many people childrens are dying from hunger even in America....😐

Also there's a small difference in the store layouts as well, in India you would have a green (veg) side and a red (non-veg) side and the meat toppings would only be a available on the red side
