N6771 is an exact copy of Butterick 6858!! Except the Butterick one offers more collar styles, a dress, and a skirt.

6768 - the cape would be super cute in fleece as a pajama coverup! I hate how fluffy robe sleeves get in the way- this would be great!!

As always, you do a wonderful job of reviewing the patterns. I really like pattern 6771 the athleisure set. I have some olive green stretch fabric that would look wonderful in that athleisure set.

Great review and extremely helpful, as always. NL6768 is the same pattern as Vogue’s 8776, which is no longer in print. Some of us may already have it in their pattern collection 😉

I'm surprised they're not pushing the hell out of New Look's value proposition consisering the economic climate and all the expensive indie upstarts competing for a share of the sewing customer pie. I'll pick up a New Look every now and then. This season my choice will be the cape that everyone in the comments is gushing over. 😊 There's always been an old-school vibe to New Look. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but maybe it's a no-frills competency that I find reassuring.

I usually avoid New Look because I'm always at the top end of their sizes but I really like the pants in 6771. Based on the where the seams are I think it wouldn't be hard to make fit adjustments.

I too was very surprised by New Look pattern 6771 generally like New Look patterns but until recenty my favorite were Buttericks. I was just looking through the Butterick book online and noticed that their pattern 6858 is the same as the New Look one ! No originality here.

Seems kind of basic. The dress would be the only one Id probably pick up eventually. Princess seams are one of the things I’m going to be working on the next few months as a new aspect of sewing for me.

I had a cape while going to college and living in the dorm. I wore it almost daily with a matching beret. I loved it. But when it came time to do student teaching and needed to drive, it failed. Armholes ripped when I tried to lift my arms, and it was too restrictive getting in and out of the car.

Well, some of us live in Saudi Arabia, or southern California or Arizona . . . I grew up in Seattle, and sandals are a 4 season option for many. Hippie holdovers are very real.

Sandals all yr round in AZ. Just add socks to your Birks when it gets nippy. 😅😂

Wool socks make birkenstocks a year round thing. I only avoid with heavy rain or snow. Even right next to Canada.
