As Teri O said, these are previously released patterns. The two you mentioned that interested you are Simplicity 9542 (new look 6754) and McCalls 7757 ( new look 6758). There is the full size range and more views in the original patterns.

Yep! The 6750 wrap dress is simplicity 8637 only simplicity gives more options.

I agree with you.....a few of the patterns in this collection I plan to buy too. This collection seems to target smaller sizes and a younger audience, and that's ok. I am not upset about this at all. A lot of these styles can be found elsewhere that are size inclusive, perhaps in our own pattern stashes. I have nieces who have 24 and 25-inch waist lines....LOL to be 18 years old again! They are learning how to sew and get excited when pattern shopping. I say give New Look a chance with the sizing they will eventually catch up! Great review!

I'm convinced they are just releasing old patterns under New Look. The illustrations look exactly the same but with different colors/prints.

For profit, it makes sense to remove smaller sizes and add bigger sizes. I'd be happy to see you working with New Look and improving their illustrations. But I will probably never be able to buy their products again, because I use their current smaller size. I already stopped my Burda magazine subscription after finding out that their smallest size are too big for me.

I bought N6749, like another comment said- wrong dress. Rather I have the wrong instructions but it looks like the correct pieces. Every package was the same- talk about quality control!

Did you know that nl6749 is the same as m7974? Also, I like the sweatshirt nl6759, to each his own. I'd really like to see you make more makes of any pattern

For 6758, how about using that silicone-lined elastic to keep the top neckline down on the biceps and prevent that neckline from creeping upward?

I literally had a conversation with someone earlier about the same design as the knit dress you started with. Apparently you stretch the waistband while attaching the bodice - and then because the waistband has negative ease it pulls the bodice into gathers. This sounds tricky to me and I wondered if instead you could gather the bodice to fit the un-stretched waistband, then remove the gathering stitches after it's sewn on???

I wasn't going to make a comment, but I have already bought one of the patterns you reviewed, the N6749, the deep V-neck button front dress with the wide midriff. After watching your review, I opened my pattern to check the finished measurement for the waist to see how much I'm going to need to expand it, and guess what I found??? The instruction sheets are labeled correctly, N6749, BUT THEY'RE FOR A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SET OF DRESSES!!! No button front, no midriff, no sleeves! I'm visiting my daughter in another state, so I can't run to my sewing room to check, but the line drawings look very familiar, like something I have from the early 2000s or thereabouts. The tissue paper has the right dress pieces, but the instruction sheet are definitely wrong! I'll probably call the company tomorrow. Just a heads up for anyone else thinking of buying this pattern. Ok, I just looked it up online and found it! And yes, I own it in its previous form, from 2011!

It's the next morning. I called the company and they said they will email me the correct instructions today. I would like to add that the customer service felt lousy. There was no apology, no have a nice day, etc. And when I tried to add a few details, the lady cut me off abruptly. The online sewing sewing community is certainly where it's at with all the enthusiasm, passion and interest for sewing!

I had the same problem. Every package in Joanne's had the wrong instructions. Who did you contact to get the instructions? The website is confusing me.

As others mentioned, New Look seems to be just repeating previous patterns with less views. They could have really made a statement by releasing them with an extended size range! They did the bare minimum, and couldn't even include the original full size range. Some of the patterns are super cute, but check your stash y'all....I easily see M7757, M7974, M7131, S9452, S9470, S8637, and B6051 in this "new" release.

Great video. I agree with you on N6757 that the skirt needs a full butt adjustment, but I don't agree with the bubble that is at the waist. She has her top tucked in, and I would be willing to bet that if you let it out, this model needs a sway back, and just pulling up that part of the waist in the skirt should end that issue. That said --- besides IMHO --- I love your videos!!!

I feel if they are only going to do one size group it should be the 10-22 or 12-24 because I feel taking it in would be easier than trying to alter the whole pattern pieces to make them bigger and *hope* it fits, even with making mock ups that's a lot of fabric that goes into a mock up that ends up being scrapped in the end and if you get it wrong the first time, or several times before it's right...that mock up fabric is wasted and just hope you have something with small pieces to be able to use it again at some point...

These are all McCall’s or Simplicity patterns, some pretty recent actually.

That bodysuit is one Simplicity released a couple of years ago except they also had a cold shoulder with that release, the pleated shorts/pants was one McCalls did a few years ago, the buttonup dress is one Vogue did before, the wrap dress was done by McCalls before except there were more ruffle options, the crop shirt/pants set also a old McCalls realease. I own a few and Kittenish Behavior did videos on some. IMHO it's a lazy collection or they're just moving patterns to better fit the brands

There have been a few videos pointing out that almost all of these are rereleases of patterns that are still in print. So if the sizes are too limited, just go get the originals 😂

Yes. It seems they are making New look the affordable patterns ( for those who don’t get the $1.99 sales) by republishing them with fewer views and a smaller size range to fit in one pattern envelope.

I don't know... I'm only a couple of years older than you, I had exactly that skirt for high school (catholic school), and with the same chunky penny loafers. This would have been mid 90s. I think this time around is not for me!

Im always amazed that the actual dimensions never match the body measurements (like SEVEN INCHES OF EASE On yop of the 4 inches no one asked for) and they clearly arent caring about matching the patterning vs line drawing

New Look patterns have always been non-size inclusive.

A twenty five inch waist is probably a ready to wear size 6 or maybe a four. Unfortunately there is nothing new or special in this collection.

This size range is depressing. I’m a medium in most RTW and I would be at the very top of this size range. That makes no sense. Really puts me off purchasing from NL.
