Plus what happened at the end of the Undertaker/Roman Reigns match with Undertaker leaving his hat and coat in the ring indeed being for nothing because Undertaker came back at WrestleMani 34 like it never happened.

I hadn't watched WWE in a couple years and that Jericho/Owens angle brought me back in and it was the only reason I tuned into that Wrestlemania. It was really disappointing seeing them come out for the 2nd match, I thought they would get the semi main-event. Jericho said if you're not last then you want to be first but I'm not sure I agree, I feel like they always put a major match right in the middle of the show and that was the spot they should've had. Undertaker/HHH and Undertaker/Punk were in that spot. It's funny that certain guys (Cena, HHH, Batista, Orton to name a few) just get shoved down your throat but they never gave that sort of a push to Jericho.. or Mick Foley for that matter. I always thought Jericho was more over than guys like HHH and Orton.

Jericho has always had a much higher opinion of himself than I think the typical wrestling fan did/does. There was absolutely no way in hell Vince McMahon would have even tinkered with the idea of him vs. Kevin Owens as the main event of wrestlemania 33. I have no doubt it was in the plans to be on the card, but there was absolutely no chance of that being the main event. Should it have been a match or two higher on the card? Possibly, but seeing how the match turned out, I think it ended up being right where it belonged and this is just another example of Jericho thinking he's up there with Cena, Taker, Reigns, Lesnar, Goldberg. He just wasn't. He was gifted the main event of wm 18 where he lost the title to HHH in a situation where everybody knew Rock vs. Hogan should have main evented that show and probably would have if his opponent wasn't HHH who was just coming back from the bad quad injury that kept him out almost a year and HHH had the ability to politic him winning the title being the last thing on the show, but EVERYBODY knows that had nothing to do with Jericho and he should be happy to say he was in A wrestlemania main event instead of complaining about the ones he wasn't in. With wrestlemania being 2 nights now, you can say Kevin Owens has main evened two wrestlemania's, but realistically in both situations, if was a one night show(like it should be), Owens would have no main events at wrestlemania. Jericho was a very good worker and to be fair, ab overachiever considering he's 5'10 and didn't really have the body at any point to where it should have made sense foe him to have ever gotten as fed as he did in a time with huge guys that weren't just big, but were legendary characters like stone, cold, the rock, taker, HHH et etc. He did amazing considering he should have probably been stuck in the IC title picture for a majority of his career. Lastly, I know it sounds like I'm knocking the guy and I'm really not. I'm just saying he's always felt he belonged in a better position than he was in and again, he's crazy if he thinks anybody who knows anything about wrestlemania and how it's sold thinks Vince even thought about making him vs. Owens the main event of wm 33. Jericho thinks his comedy with Owens, his "list" and calling people stupid idiots was gonna be bigger than Lesnar vs. Goldberg or Taker vs. Reigns? Come on. I know he hates that a guy like Goldberg gets more opportunities than him because he is more talented than Goldberg but....look at Goldberg and look at Jericho. When you're selling your biggest show to the masses, you put your biggest stars out there and Jericho just never was who he apparently thinks he still is. I'll end this by asking what has he REALLY done for AEW other than cost them a lot of money and getting them back no return on that money. He chose to be the big fish in a small pond and because those indy wrestlers looked like they do, what did Jericho do? He let himself get out of shape to the point where people were making memes of him and saying he should retire. I'll always remember Jericho as a IC level heel or face that you could sprinkle in the main event if the other guy was a top level/established main event guy. That's what he is and again, he's an overachiever for that because he was really just a slightly chubby version of a cruiserweight. He's a legend, but in his mind, I think he sees himself on the mount Rushmore of wrestling and he's just not who he thinks he is/was.

This reminds me of that memo that leaked years ago where Vince sent a letter to the Ultimate Warrior after he demanded equal or more pay than Hogan: Warrior was a legend in his own mind. To a large extent, Jericho is the same way. Yes, he had one of the best debuts of all time and was an undisputed champion but after that there was nothing really special about him. He was great in WCW but never got that chance to shine on a main event level. Plus, Jericho’s idea of what is “funny” is definitely questionable. Sadly Tony Khan has already proven that he does NOT have that "alternative to WWE" mentallity and it shows week in and week out. There's no "boss" there to keep people in check cause the older generation WILL bury people if given the chance.
