Basically sap basis is platform engineering for sap. Even if someone doesn’t need to do coding, he/she needs to understand how code works and almost all basic concepts of computer science to grow in core sap basis.

Ask your manager and work with your manager to assign you to an implementation project. In the long run learn scripting, cloud engineering, automation etc and many other things, as you will not grow by only doing BASIS. I also faced the same situation, and I regret not taking action sooner.
