as in the ecu will recognize the difference and do what it needs to do, I did a snorkel delete on a ford focus, extra air, over about a week the ecu measures that there is more air so pumps in less fuel, made the car 5-10 mpg more efficient for same performance

Yeah I removed my air intake pipes and fitted a flexible tube and mounted it just above the bottom grill, as you said it's a poor design. But I've got an aluminium intake intake and cone filter instead of the standard airbox.

@@dieseltuningincboosttechno4684 it seemed to help out. This was after I had it remapped and just before the DPF was removed (which made a big difference) but when removing the pipes the way they're routed and the location isn't ideal.
