I used to do ICFs and this reminds me of them however the quote I received for materials to do a 40hc was more then the cost to have it done in spray foam

We got our start coming from the ICF industry! Our panels' built in stud adhere directly to a CMU wall. How much was the spray foam build? Did that cost also include the framing??
@charlieodom91073 ай бұрын
3 companies in my area quoted me 800-1000 for spray foam. Metal studs are cheap, and some sheet foam and plywood if you want to insulate the floor. This is way too expensive for what you get, sorry.

What about using that for both inside and outside for a R-22 wall?
@PlasmaBurns Жыл бұрын
still leaves lots of air gaps on the metal. Lots of places for moisture to build. Mold to grow, rust to destroy.
@insofast-continuous-insulation11 ай бұрын
Hmm. What makes you say that? What framing and insulation method would you consider to be better?
@TheYvesable8 ай бұрын
yes, this sucks. Expansive foam is much better.

@@TheYvesable Hey, we are always open to this type of discussion! Why do you prefer expansive foam methods over EPS?

@@keyoumarsmobasser476 We are not opposed to closed cell spray foam! If it's installed right, it makes for a dream insulator. But we created our panels as a non-toxic, simple (DIY friendly) way to insulate AND frame the interior in less steps!

Can you do exterior insulation and live the inside the way it is?

yes, you can

Why not cut the hooks off and save the insulation ?
@insofast-continuous-insulation11 ай бұрын
It's easier/faster/more DIY friendly and doesn't waste much foam out of the panel. I guess you COULD cut the hooks!
@lynetteprimeaualharris979511 ай бұрын
But what about condensation?? Shouldn’t you have a vapor/water barrier somehow?

That's all engineered into the panel!

@@keyoumarsmobasser476 it has to be adhered to the metal on the inside. For metal containers you want the thinest insulation on the inside and the remainder on the outside. Believe me i lived in a container in the middle east and you dont want to screw this up, stuff starts to rot real fast.

So after you put the foam on the exterior do you do the siding and flashing?

Yes, the panels have electrical raceways and built in framing, the are ready to finish.

@insofast-continuous-insulation6 ай бұрын
Yes, you can use these panels on the exterior of the containers.
@wittelkenneth4 ай бұрын
You have a great product except for the air gap problem. I’m wondering if some type of spray adhesive would be better. This way, you have more of a “full contact” and there will not be the air gap/condensation/rust problem.

We actually do also recommend air sealing the panels with a horizontal bead of spray foam. I added a link to an older video we have up. We will have another video on this coming soon! kzbin.info/www/bejne/jIiQY5qjq7Ccq80

@charlieodom91073 ай бұрын
This is unreasonably expensive. I can do an entire 20' container in spray foam, including metal stud framing, for half the price of this, and I don't have to worry about air gaps. Sorry, but this is just way too expensive.
