This band can't write a bad song, they simply can not. Each time i listen to them, they are always capable to move me deeply; they are one of my favourite bands in the game from a long time.

This is going back to 2006. As a longtime Insomnium fan, it’s pretty cool to hear how they have evolved their sound over time. Insomnium is amongst the very best of this genre. Awesome song.

I'm a relatively new Insomnium fan and I was just listening to this song. The build-up to the bridge along with the rhythm change of the Outro and the lyrics make for such a powerful song. I can say it is the first death metal song that brought me to tears.

Glad to hear you've become an "Insomnium fan" :-) They really are the best melodic death metal band in the world. Incredible consistant in their quality, inovation of the sound, while still remaining unmistakable "Insomnium sound" They go hand in hand with Belakor, both band are as solid as it can be. Insomnium's discography however, it's much larger. Not a single bad song in it.

Early Insomnium when they kept it "simple" is light years ahead of any new material.

I'd disagree. As an die hard Insomnium fan going back to the Under the Moonlit Waves demo, they have grown exponentially. They have honed in on their sound and style and Niilo has become an award winning author - something that shines through in the lyrical writing of the modern albums. Moving from Candlelight Records to Century Media only opened up more resources for them to utilize hence the change in sound and production value which was inevitable since they made the hard shift on their final Candlelight album, Across the Dark.

@@jeffbudd7678 Across The Dark is my favorite Insomnium album. Things changed when they brought Markus in who IMO ruined the Insomnium sound. Markus made them a better melodic death metal band, but not a better Insomnium. He brought in the hopeful sound of Omnium Gatherum which is starkly different than the early melancholy. And now because of that, he has no more ideas for OG and they released the horrible "Origin" album. But of course to each their own ;) \m/

10 years ago I was going through cancer treatment and I listened to Insomnium a lot during that time. I thought a lot about life and death and this song became very special to me. Back then I decided that I want this song to be played at my funeral whenever that may be
