I've got some 300blk loaded up with your zincers to try out here soon. Do they stay pretty much in tact, or does it pop into dust like a frangible?

Hiya, DR! It’s always fun to recover our rounds to study. Periodically, while mining the berm at the gun club I uncover my own bullets. It’s cool to see what happened with them at impact! 🤛🏻🔫🇺🇸

Quite interesting to peek around at every once in a while. Thanks👍🇺🇸

I’ve retrieved many of my bullets (lead “quarters” 200 grain LEE 45 Colt) after cowboy action shoots on steel…I know they were mine because I used Hi Tek “Zombie Green” coating…and got teased about my choice of color at the loading table (if I heard one comment about Wyatt Earp or Doc Holliday using them at the OK Coral 😜😊🤣)…one thing that stood out was how the coating remained intact after impacting steel at 750 fps (they always passed the hammer test after coating) great video 👍👍👍…thanks for sharing!

It's pretty cool seeing how they act upon impact with different things. Gotta love recycling your own bullets, too👍🇺🇸

I had been wondering if hi-tek or powder coating was effective as plated to prevent leading, this looks like could be? I'd heard the proper size is important to occlude bore so that gas doesn't 'blow by' and vaporize the coating/lead. Also good to get confirmation that .358 powder coated can be used in both 9mm and 38.

Hi tek is definitely not as strong as powder coating, which isn't as strong as plated. But, PC performs well enough that I haven't even thought about buying plated bullets since I started casting. Jackets are for full power rifle loads. Pretty much everything else can be done with PC and reasonable alloy hardness. Gas checking is basically optional as far as leading prevention with PC. They do provide a uniform base, though. If you're gonna try the 358125s in 9mm, just plunk every one of your barrels to make sure they fit. My Hellcat is tight, but they cycle when firing. Just a bit sticky by hand. Thanks🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

@@DummyRound so far no problem, maybe because I use the Lee Factory crimp, since it re-sizes so it fits(the bullets do seat easily without shearing lead although I do use a bit of flare)

Sounds like you've got it under control 👍

Bore riders don't give much room to not be jammed because of the ogive . But it is best to not jam them .

Makes a lot more sense when you see where it's fitting👍🇺🇸

It can be tricky to get a good jam measurement sometimes with a bore rider but I treat a bore rider as any other style bullet and shoot for .010 or more off the lands for accuracy @@DummyRound . Powder coat bullets I like to be .020 off the lands as that creates more variable to the mix .
