The vent hood looked like it was actually a recirculating hood. Possibly not exhausting outside. The slots at the top section of the vent pipe/duct, near the ceiling could be a sign of a recirculating vent/range hood.

Hey Ben. I too like these new videos. How do you classify the missing anti tip bracket?

Major safety defect that can be easily corrected by a contractor.

FYI, it’s always best to turn the broiler on first and then turn on the oven. That way, if you do happen to leave it on at least you’ve left on the oven at 350° versus the broiler at 500°. We always turn on the burners and get a picture of them in operation

I am finding that a lot of stove vents in newer homes do not vent out through the roof and they vent in your face. Is this a defect? John Grimaldi CMI and InterNACHI Home Inspector Mentor

I'd call it out as a defect. All exhaust vents should terminate outside. Read this: www.nachi.org/kitchen-exhaust.htm

You ain't going to call out that s-trap?
@internachi3 жыл бұрын
Yep. Good catch. Those traps really don't come up as a major defect. Water leaks, yes.

@@internachi Sewer gases entering the home is a major defect and safety hazard to me. But that's why home inspectors are basing their inspection on personal concerns not code.
