Good inspection work. It may be old, but looked like it was in decent shape.

Well done Curtis, it should run reliably for a few more years, may be not with the blower motor ? 👍 Au

We enjoyed the video. It probably gets frustrating not to be able to repair something in order to evaluate something else properly, but that was a fine job! 😊 Cigarette Smoke! 🤢

I work in Vegas and it’s so nasty when people smoke in their house. It comes right out the condenser fan
@pstiegman7 ай бұрын
Our house had a ceiling grille that looked totally rusted. When I cleaned it, I realized that it was just smoke stains and the grille itself was stainless steel. Previous owners were heavy smokers. I'll bet that blower wheel is FULL of tarry residue, causing low amp draw.

I actually dealt with some of this on my home when we bought 9 years ago because there was a VA requirement. I ended up finding more shit wrong than the HVAC tech but then later the VA came back and wanted proof that each gas lit fireplace had the emergency shutoff valves that they have ALL required for 25yrs. It ended up being 3 signed & notarized affidavits that they were present! Haha. They didn’t seem concerned about the dangerous furnace that was present in both HVAC’s.

Off Topic Question: Have you ever installed soft start kits on A/C systems? Living in Florida's hurricane prone weather, I installed a soft start on my 4 ton heat pump and it lowered the inrush amps from 105A to around 35A. If I lose power, I can run my central A/C on the 10KW portable generator now which I could not do before the soft start was installed.. BTW, I observed that the compressor is much less noisy during starting . The compressor start cycle is so gentle it is a lot like an inverter driven compressor... although we both know it is not. Have had the SS kit about a year now with no hiccups so far. Loving it. Take care.

Thanks. Seeing those gas units outside always makes me glad we have basements. Much less corrosion if a dehumidifier is used.

In California most new houses have the gas packs/dual packs on the roof. Before 1965 when outdoor furnaces were legalized they had a closet furnace with outdoor condenser. Older houses that were remodeled and have a crawl space had them on the ground. Houses built before 1940 with central heating had a basement with a gravity furnace, All new houses are on a slab. The roof is the worst place to put them in 105-110 degree heat, but it's cheaper.

@@dfirth224out here in Vegas I ask the same thing about the rooftop units. Makes no sense having a system just bake in the sun.

Good thorough inspection ! I think you’ll be back soon to repair what you quoted. Sounds like that river has a lot of boat traffic. This will probably get worse closer to July 4th. My experience with water like that is if I am close I’ll eventually fall in 😅 Not a good practice for an idiot that never learned to swim lol Have a nice weekend. It looks to be a hot one!

I love your work. Keep it going. I try to nose breath during stress. Slow and low into the diaphragm. To keep blood pressure lower and stress down. Having a moment when bend down to standing up is a blood pressure moment. I bet you do some of these things. Weight training and cardio. No fluoride ever again. it is a super anti-bacterial and can mess with blood pressure. Cheers. I may start an hvac company. I'm in automation now. Just swapped my home system. Went to dual fuel heat pump. So far i love it. two stage cooling is a dream.

curious why you didn’t check the indoor blower amperage at the circuit board and was the return side of the evap coil plugged thst may have been causing the low suction pressure ..? thanks for posting content

No heat exchanger inspection blower wheel probably needs cleaned and not even a look at the ductwork its part of the system so it needs to be checked something could be loose or collapsed its a pert of a complete inspection

14:50 - Can you describe the sound you’re supposed to be hearing on this device? All I hear on mine is what sounds like a radio that’s not tuned to a station and no matter the position of the slider on the left side, the bar LED fluctuates all over. They sent me another one; but, it behaves the same way. Am I doing something wrong? PP3 battery is new and the BOSS headset is plugged all the way into the 1/8” jack.
