WildBrain (Formerly Cookie Jar Group and DIC Entertainment), and FremantleMedia North America, Inc. (Formerly LBS Communications, Inc.) now co-own the rights to "Inspector Gadget" in reruns, but the closing logo recreation from season 2 used DIC and LBS logos from 1984, and when reruns were shown originally on CBS in the 1991-92 season, and on Nickelodeon from 1987 to 1992 and again from 1996 to 2000, the end logos right after the season 2 end credits were shown as were a combo.

Jim Carrey auditioned for Corporal Capeman. Capeman was an unpopular season two addition to the series, and was voiced by Townsend Coleman. Coleman would later voice Scott Howard/Teen Wolf on Teen Wolf: The Animated Series, Cisco, Riot, and Rory Llewellyn on Jem, Colt on Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Gobo Fraggle, Wrench Doozer, and Architect Doozer on Fraggle Rock: The Animated Series, Waldo on Where’s Waldo?, Wayne Gretzky on ProStars, The Tick on The Tick, Vulture Police on Timon & Pumbaa, Sentinel Prime, Tracks, and News Boy on Transformers: Animated, and (most notably) Michelangelo, the Rat Krang, on the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles animated series. He also provided additional voices on The Snorks, The Real Ghostbusters, Denver, the Last Dinosaur, Dino-Riders, Fantastic Max, The Smurfs (season 9), The Karate Kid, Dink, the Little Dinosaur, Tiny Toon Adventures, Tom & Jerry Kids Show, Captain Planet and the Planeteers (season 1), The Adventures of Don Coyote and Sancho Panda, Widget, the World Watcher (season 2), NBC advertising (1992 to 2009) The Twisted Tales of Felix the Cat, Earthworm Jim, Dexter's Laboratory, The Fantastic Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor, The Legend of Calamity Jane, CatDog, Invasion America, The Powerpuff Girls, The Fairly OddParents, Time Squad, Poochini's Yard, My Life as a Teenage Robot, Dave the Barbarian, Danny Phantom, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, Brandy & Mr. Whiskers, The Buzz on Maggie, Catscratch, Camp Lazlo, The X's, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Sing, and The Grinch. In 1984, the year Capeman made his debut, Carrey got his first lead role on a short-lived NBC comedy called The Duck Factory, about a young animator starting his career at a low-budget animation company.

The green DIC Vortex and that LBS logo at the end of the Inspector Gadget VHS by Kideo Video which had "All That Glitters", "Gadget Goes West", "The Coo-Coo Clock Caper", "Gadget's Roma", "Focus on Gadget", "N.S.F. Gadget", "Magic Gadget", "The Great Wambini's Séance", "Wanbini Predicts", "Bad Dreams Are Made of This", "M.A.D. on the Moon", "Crashcourse in Crime", "Ghost Catchers", and "Gadget Meets the Clan", but in the video, it's a typo and says "Gadget Meets the Grappler" for the episode title.

Anybody out there think that these credits are better than the season one credits, given that they are easier to read?
@ZakWolf9 жыл бұрын
Michael Glickman You are thinking of the early version of the first season credits, with the really small text. (These episodes also ended with a silent "Vortex" logo.) They were revised a little later into the season with a larger easy-to-read text. (Many of the episodes with this credit version used the custom Gadget logo.)

Season 2 actually aired from September 30 to November 13, 1985, with the 21 episodes airing on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays over 7 weeks, and repeats of Season 1 airing on Thursdays and Fridays.
@ZakWolf9 ай бұрын
Yep, pretty much. This is why the Season 2 episodes were done in threes, i.e. a three-episode arc of sorts where the villain isn't apprehended until the end of the arc, or not even captured at all. This was most likely to convince syndication markets to pick up the second season, along with all the other drastic changes (that big weird Gadget house the main characters move into, the addition of Corporal Capeman, the more outlandish arcs like space travel and going back in time, etc.)

Probably because Welker - to my ears, anyway - most likely did not play Dr Claw in the second season. Listen closely to Claw in the first season vs. Claw in the second season. The acting, as well as the booming quality to the voice, is nowhere near as good in season 2. It sounds to me like someone trying to imitate Welker's work on Claw. I'm thinking that Claw in the second season was likely played by one of the other actors listed at 00:19; for instance Louis Nye or Andy Goldberg.
@ZakWolf10 жыл бұрын
Mesterius1 It could be likely, but at times it did sound like Welker. It might be because they did not enhance the voice with modulation effects like in many of the first-season episodes (and even there, some first season episodes didn't have the modulation on Claw's voice either!) I know Brain and MAD Cat both still sound like Welker...
@Mesterius110 жыл бұрын
I've heard that voice modulation effect theory before (maybe from you?), but I ain't quite buying it. Reason 1: The *acting* in Dr Claw's voice is a thousand times better in season 1 than in season 2. That has nothing to do with voice effects, it has to do with talent. Reason 2: Yeah ,I realize that not all season 1 episodes used that booming effect on the voice, but also consider this: Frank Welker in the 2006 Robot Chicken parody sounds like Claw from season 1. Frank Welker in the 1992 Christmas Special sounds like Claw from season 1. Claw in season 2 sounds less like Claw from season 1 than either of those. I agree that Brain and M.A.D. Cat in season 2 sound closer to Welker. But that doesn't prove anything as far as Dr Claw goes. Maybe there was a specific reason Welker couldn't play Claw in season 2. I don't know. But the season 2 voice does not really sound like him in any way. It sounds like a lesser actor attempting an imitation of his work.
@MathieuLeblanc199110 жыл бұрын
Mesterius1 There were voice changes in Season 2 , but Welker being from LA did not get replaced , only Penny and Quimby got replaced since their actors worked in the Toronto area
