A wasp actually got into the smoke detector in the electrical room. The firefighters found a hornets' next in there! So they had to get the fire alarm service company AND an exterminator to come in.

Davis K-8? (I know there are other places with that kind of setup in your area but the Davis K-8 is the only one that I have solidly in my memory) Is it just me or is the horn not working on the first P2R/P4R shown? (unless it's an SR instead) Good view of a fire truck in the window reflections there! (bet they weren't happy about having to come out for a false alarm though, especially when there might be an actual call they need to respond to)

Nope! It's the Fine Arts building at my college, but they too went the exact same upgrade path, from Simplex 4051+4050-80 horn/lights to System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance horn/strobes. Also, the original pulls are Simplex 4251-20s (rather than break-glass 4251-30s), and many had Stopper II covers installed over them during the upgrade. And the horn was indeed working on the first one. And yes, I do remember that "G.I. Joe" PSA on how false alarms can keep firefighters away from the real action.
